only use it if you have the non steam version of the game you want to make a server for, if you have steam go to tools and get source dedicated server its the exact same thing only it dosent take that long to set up and you don't need to do all of that complicated crap. @thehaloman96 You are totaly wrong, currently srcds is the only way you can install mods ever since the update. Another thing is that srcds runs more efficiently that the steam dedicated server. Finally you are also wrong about where to go to create a CS:S server in steam, you are suppose to go tools and install the team fortress 2 dedicated server because CS:S moved to the orangebox engine.

then i checked the command target line

spacing is very hard to tell in the video because one line is split up onto multiple lines on the video

You need to join while at home (assuming that's where the server is) via the LAN tab in Steam. If that doesn't work, delete steam.dll and client.blob in the steam folder and it will download fresh versions when you restart steam. I had the same problem.
