Point blank is where the trajectory of the bullet and the sights are exactly aligned, so it is point blank at the distance you zeroed and at a second point at a further range.

@sjjelectric I actully think that judging by the wound the 30-06 shot missed the brain. not killing it. just wounding it and laying it down. if you look at the pig. it was moving a little bit on the ground. therefore revolver was a good thing
@beno177 you are right it missed the brain but the bullet went towards the back of the neck severed the spine and spinal cord, it was looking at me when I shot. . just like forensic autopsy I always cut it up and check bullet wounds and trajectory. thanks.

That is the way I hunt. Shoot the hog with a big enough caliber, in my opinion bare minimum 30-06 especially at further ranges. When you walk up on the hog shoot him again for good measure and ethical hunting. I have shot hogs with 300 magnums in the boiler room just to watch them run off. Hogs are very tough animals.

The title of this video is misleading. I've seen much closer shots than what you took but POINT BLANK means you're right next to the hog when you shoot it. I've seen only one video on youtube where the hog ran over the hunter and he shot him POINT BLANK.

Coincidentally,I was wondering if u'd ask your mother for me just what she enjoyed the most about bein gutted with me&my 3 hawg huntin buddies pork swords all yesterday of an evenin. She hollered "Free range porkchops boys and no safe word necessary!" which is what we had planned any damn way. She left with a smile this mornin that I dont believe a belt sander could remove effecively. Sweetest old lady ive came across in a while. You are welcome.

@beamprimary Wild hogs, in any country around the world, are a menace to both humans and property. They will attack and kill a human, not to mention other animals. Additionally, they destroy crops. They need to be eradicated. This man is actually doing a GOOD thing. My advice is to stop looking at hunting videos if you can't accept these facts.

Good shot and nice hog, BUT...
The title of this video is misleading. I've seen much closer shots than what you took but POINT BLANK means you're right next to the hog when you shoot it. I've seen only one video on youtube where the hog ran over the hunter and he shot him POINT BLANK.

@dvrgaryc Thats the impression I had. I guess when thy say point blank, they meant the shot with the revolver... But they did mention it was a point blank shot with that rifle, so I suppose they're unsure of what exactly POINT BLANK is.
