the Crunch Loop is also known as The Trailer Hitch in WWE. During his first run with the WWE, James Gibson (Jamie Noble) used it (and apparently innovated it) as a finisher. I'm going to assume it's an adoption from a friend, similar to Roderick Strong adopting the Tiger Driver from Gibson after he left ROH
