  • if there were human sized wasps... i don't want to die like that...

  • is that how wasps control zombie humans too?

  • @stu741zyphia158 Nope. That's organized religion!

  • @RadarKat73080 oh...how about nazi zombies?

  • @stu741zyphia158 Did you see the GOP debate a couple of days ago?

  • @RadarKat73080 nope. i cant vote so i dont care about politics

  • @RadarKat73080 yes...i murdered your brother 0.0

  • Fuck wasps.

  • Weird, but cool.

  • Imagine the same thing happens to people....

  • @grimRthehedgehog our brains are too complicated.

  • SCARY

  • Dear Nature, "WtTF?!" - Signed the rest of the world.

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!

  • Annoying voice...

  • The caterpillar does this thing for love. Its just a game in nature, not drama.

  • @Charrasca or its just a mind controlling wasp making them do it... both seem similar xD

  • Omg another video that has nothing to do with religion and still people comment about God.

  • @catchyou1000 and you think you do?

  • that's amazing!

  • @catchyou1000 Actually, you are... Imagine the punishment in hell which is just waiting a click from Life to Death.

  • Actually, being human, one can see beyond...

The poor caterpillar having the wasp parasites feels them as endless painful tumors and even a slight nudge can provoke mega electric shocks through its tiny nervous system. The behavior is just natural!

  • So...parasite wasts rape caterpillars?

  • I just couldn't take it. ima go watch a video about bunnies now. X:(

  • hahaha, 0pracy that actually made me laugh xD

  • think happy thoughts, think happy thoughts, think happy thoughts, they are not real, it's all in my head, yes it must be...MOTHER DON"T OPEN THAT WINDOW.

  • i not going to sleep

  • Holy crap! Imagine these wasps evolve and become a parasite to human.....

  • Nature, you scary! Damn.

  • Zombie caterpillar controlled by voodoo wasps? Come on, why not call it bugs for dumb asses

  • I LOVE Youtubers : Scientists can't tell why but 15 yo kids all have the answer. I mean why do we hire guys with 10 years of university to make nuclear or AIDS research when you can simply ask on youtube....

  • "As soon as the wasps become adults, it will DIE " - funky music -

  • A probable reason might be that the caterpillar thinks that those eggs might be theirs, maybe?

  • @EricXdog fuck you man

  • Many Scientist tested a hypothesis named "Usurpation Hypothesis", in which parasitized host larvae try to protect the larvae of parasitoid from potential secondary predator or hyperparasitoids

  • Scientists dont know why? Maybe its in agony and in a state of panic/alert and so any tiny movement is reacted to as in a state of trauma?

  • if they grow they could infect us and at the time i thought this my dick got cold

  • Zombies...They are real!

  • In some years insects will rule the world...

  • That's not Voodoo Thats H4X!!!!!!!!

  • This is what should have been in Resident Evil 4, note some parasites of fish and ants that make them easier pray for predators! (=

  • Imagine the wasp insert the eggs on us. AND IT'S REAL ZOMBIES SHIT!

  • This is my stick bitch!

  • why does it die right after the wasp baby births? do the babies kill it? and does it need to be a female caterpillar? thats some nasty jedi-mind tricks that the wasp has.

  • @realistromeo They don't know why, or what mechanism. But essentially, the babies no longer need the catarpillar for survival, and therefore his/her usefulness is done, which means the new parasitised catarpillar dies, as it no longer serves any function. It isn't the babies "kill it," it just dies. (It's not so much of starvation as the NatGeo vid suggests). But what is interesting, is that a couple larvae stay behind in the catarpillar, scientists think they may have something to do with it.

  • Must kill those evil nazi wasps!!!

  • step one of the zombie invasion

  • The cruelest part of mother nature is that some conscious matter can only survive off of other conscious matter.

  • Caterpie used Flail

    It's Super Effective!

  • Comment removed

  • and the flat worm that gets eaten by a snail, comes out in the slime, gets eaten by an ant controlles the and and then gets eaten by a cow and becomes a tape worm.

  • we're all fucked

  • This is not the first time such thing happen in nature ..

.. there is a bird species which lays eggs in other bird's nest so that its offspring will be taken care by the other bird (which mistakes it to be its own offspring) when it hatches. I can't remember what bird but I saw it before..

Some animals are quite clever, evolution makes some species think of clever tactics to survive, albeit cruel tactics ..

  • @kkdkk7 the cuckoo.

  • I think in all likelihood the caterpillar is confused into thinking it that the wasp larvae that emerged from its skin is the caterpillar's own offsprings, thats why it treats them like its own babies protecting them ..

  • @kkdkk7 I would doubt this very much, and the reason is - the catarpillar stops eating completely. It doesn't just defend the larvae, it ceases any function OTHER than defending the larvae. In addition, it defends the larvae only for the duration they need it, no longer. After which it dies.

The few catarpillar that do not defend the larvae (2 out of 19), find themselves in a catatonic like state. So it really is a form of mind control.

  • @bustthewave

    Wow, u do know a lot about this thing .. assuming what u said is true (which I hope u r not making things up) - there's a few statements which I think u r "over-concluding" ..

    (1) the fact that the caterpillar ceases most functions does not imply anything about whether or not its defending the larvae as offsprings. It could be that its normal instincts to eat is affected badly by the larvae while they were inside its body

    (2) saying it is mind control is also baseless..

  • So, Anyone wanna play dead rising? :D

  • "Everyone Type "Won" Before youtube.com

  • @jasmanawsme you idiots mind your own buisniss making peopole get infected by a virus for there own entertaiment GET THE HELL OFF OF YOUTUBE!

  • thats crazy

  • if they find the mechanism -humans will be doomed. (maybe they have)

  • let's all thumb down 'Damn nature , you scary ! ' posted on every nature video.

  • @lorenzvc Dahm lorenzvc, you scary!

  • @lorenzvc Damn nature YOU SCARY

  • @lorenzvc damn comment you scary

  • @lorenzvc THANK YOU!!! Even here in Europe, when I first heard that "joke" , I thought it was stupid even though I didnt know where it came from. Now that I know its origins, I still think its stupid, and anyone who says it, has a 1 dimensional view of comedy. Thank you for having intelligence and class.

  • Only sure way to kill a zombie caterpillar is a head shot... or just step on them.

  • well that was horrifyingly disgusting or disgustingly horrifying or..something

  • Damn democrats always sucking off the caterpillar's generosity!

  • SPINE CRAWLER!

  • hahaha its like dead rising

  • So this is where resident evil creators found the idea of las plagas

  • FUCK NATURE

  • Sounds like the action of Teabaggers. Their minds are under someone else's control.

  • @saadasim lol, and they thrash around just like the caterpillar screaming gih gumment awf ur backs take urr cuntry back hands awf ma medicare

  • that caterpillar looks like a rod of shit

  • scientist: i wonder what would happen if we did this to human brains!

    *3 months later*

leon, the presidents daughter has been kidnapped!

  • fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • My babies! ... 2 months later

AAhh Stop Fkin Biting me ... WAAIIT A MIINUUTE

you no look like catipillar .. OH FKKK!!

  • must be the circle of life and all that

  • damn real motherlove.

  • Holy shit , i am scratching my whole body right now

  • poor caterpillar must be in so much pain

  • How come religious nuts never mention this when they say how wonderful god is?

  • Its the circle of life. -.-''

  • Its just a "Las Plagas" :D damn it... its starting.. where's Leon?

  • @ayamenrin lol this showed up on the suggested video list when i was watching a re4 playthrough

  • @ayamenrin My name is Leon.

  • god ur an amazing loving god thank u ....sarcasm

  • OH MY GOD! *ITCHES*

Im gonna kill a wasp when I see it now. D:

  • @KuroiKarite - You beat me to it lol

  • I love insects! Great video - thanks for sharing it! The only time I don't like wasps is when they are flying around the deck in my yard or swarming around my kids. I found this inexpensive trap that eliminates wasps safely. Just google Fatal Funnel Traps and you will see what I'm talking about.

  • dutch people dont know anything

  • holy crap O.o

i wonder if a wasp someday could do that to a human ....

  • I fear that in the future, there'll be a link between scientists figuring out why this happens, and a zombie apocalypse.

  • @TheChronicKronic

    dead rising, anyone?

  • this is so fucking creepy

  • if you could do that to humans it would be great...........oh i just remembered all those things called ethics how annoying (sigh)

  • Caterpillars like "sup' nigga' beetle" *pounds it*

Then zombie caterpillar like "GET YUR' DARKLY ASS AWAY FROM MY SHIT"

  • Necromancers?

  • My theory is that perhaps the catterpillar's skin becomes sensitive to touch due to enzymes secreted by the larvae before they emerged from the caterpillar's body. If that were the case, then the catterpillar would be thrashing about to prevent painful contact. Just a thought.

  • @elteescat you, my friend. is a genius. nice theory you got there. prove it someday

  • @RalphCruz09 I might just look into it. I still have a week before I go back to the university. :)

  • @elteescat

that could also explain the fact that it wont move. it may make the body sensitive is some parts. if it were to move, that would cause more pain. either that, or the wasp larvae end up crippling it.

  • @wrathvenge It's worth looking into. It's interesting as hell!

  • @elteescat That's a hypothesis.

  • @falcoperegrinus82 On the contrary, it is actually a theory as it is merely contemplation or speculation. A hypothesis is step one in the scientific process one would utilize in an attempt to prove a theory.

  • @elteescat What you said is a hypothesis because it was an educated guess posited to explain an observation. A (scientific) theory is a hypothesis that has stood up to the rigors of scientific experimentation and scrutiny and has been verified to be the best explanation for a phenomenon among competing hypotheses. A scientific theory is in no way "contemplation or speculation". BTW "proof" means nothing in science.

  • @falcoperegrinus82 Actually it was an uneducated wild idea. LOL And Dictionary Dotcomdid, indeed, say in definition 6 of theory that it was contemplation and speculation! I know nothing about animals and enzymes, I'm a beginning bio-medical engineering student with little knowledge as of yet! =D

  • @elteescat Dude, what does definition #1 in dictionary dotcom say? And synonyms section of that same page? You're confusing the common usage definition of the word with it's meaning in scientific context; the distinction here is critical. It is common for people mix up the two (i.e. creationists saying "evolution is only a theory" which is very often deliberate sophistry.). It doesn't matter how uneducated your guess was, however good or bad, it was a hypothesis nonetheless.

  • This is only the beginning! Soon Scientists will study these insects and replicate it into a Virus and zombies will be real!

  • @sylvur and what about the jellyfish that can die and reborn itself into a new jellyfish. wonder if science can make that happen for people lmao

  • As soon as the wasps become adults, it will die. LOL 0:56

  • ZOMBIES??? o.O

  • HOLY SHIT !!!

  • I never liked wasps.

  • Three words:

    Fuck wasps.

  • LOL PWNED!!!

  • lol it prob just thinks that its the parents of those bugs an protects them

  • Lets hope these wasps don't evolve too much...

  • the faculty

  • Rape?

  • @EpikStriker Don't mind if I do...

  • I love it when nature does shit like this

  • would you think if you had 70 bugs growing inside you that you would be a little "sensitive"

  • @AntiPsychopath Yes, but you don't realize *pulls out a blackboard* you see, parisitic wasps inject not only eggs, but a special virus that takes over the physical being(basically, mind control) of the host the host becomes basically a brainless slave to the things inside it (or, if the wasp decides to take it to the hive for food or something, the wasp controls the host to walk to the hive) no scientist can explain what makes it happen, but it surely is awesome!

  • @neoman289151 Codswallop

  • @AntiPsychopath codswallop? is that the virus?

  • i think those wasp are terrorist and the host is their victim. oh my! a new generation of terrorist....

  • @iiiazrockiii Oh my GOD... What kind of terrorist are these D:
