  • great job here and in all of your videos

  • Nice rendition!

  • Hello, je joue ce morceau comme "east colorado blues", ?

  • Great job, but wasnt john henry by leadbelly?

  • Awesome playing and singing. One question though, how many guitars do you own? lol

  • i like this one you sound like john henry s daughter

  • you keep talkin to me you could call on me if you like at jonnyrab20@yahoo.com

  • I really dig harry belafonte´s version if this, it is very emotional

  • Your voice carries me away like a river, so deeply all bad noise is washed away

    Wonderful!

  • its not mississippi john hurt without the background noise! lol.

  • you're pretty good, i dont know enough about this discipline of blues. thanks for exposing it, now i know that i have to research some of the numbers you play. Keep up the good work, and though this style is not so much popular, its people like you who keep the dying spirit alive. Dont ever get discouraged.

  • Man you absolutely nail these John Hurt tunes! I'm literally tapping my toes.

  • Hello,

Beautiful interpretation of you, congratulations, it's very pleasing to hear, bravo.

  • Man do you really think she is trying to take credit?? You would have to be working with half a brain to think that. You got to be a fucking dumb ass or something! I mean really, come on. I have read some stupid post on youtube about various things , but that shit you wrote takes the fucking cake.

  • you know what.

    you are right.

i guess boredom got to me, and my brain rotted

    i'll delete my previous posts

  • How would we find this artist if she just put her name in the title?

i found this artist by happy accident myself just like you looking for MJH,

and to be honest i am glad about it,

of all the posts with MJH in the title these are amung the best.

I love MJH's work, once you got all the records and vids' to find this is amazing.

  • Damn girl, you done an excellent job!!

    5 stars!!

  • goddam are you good.!how do you do it?

  • i just love the style and what a great vocal.compared to country now they have something to worry about

  • Great !

I feel like artists are mediums.

    Arthur Rimbaud was already saying that;

but I feel like we are lost in our visions !

Lost in our emotions, lost in this so strange sea, lost !

    I am.

  • You and your music is soooo beautiful, celestial almost...

  • Great grasp of the John Hurt picking on this song! I listened to your Pallet On the Floor as i was listening to different covers of it just now, was impressed with your attention to the John Hurt licks and riffs so i wanted to hear more of your stuff, this is the second one i've listened to, even better than the first. Partly it's the difference in the guitars! What a change.I was wishing you had a better guitar when i heard the first tune. You and the Martin bring out the best in each other.

  • this is singular, dude..that's...oh, Lord...dude..

  • very nice playing and voice.

  • can you play mississippi fred macdowell?

  • Thank you, Thank you! I love catching your latest postings and look forward to many more - you are a true talent, and look forward to anytime you play the capital region! Keep 'em coming...

  • You nailed the guitar part, fine job on the vocal but your room needs tidy up.ha.All the best for 2009.Bob.Wales UK.

  • Great playing as usual, and your voice is powerful too!

Thanks for posting and keep up the good work in 2009.

  • We gotta get ye a 12-string!

  • You're guitar picking is really amazing, On top of that you're voice is even better!

You seem to like to make all those old blues guys look bad by doing there songs a million times better then they did em.

I like the camera you was using before though. It was easier to see what you were doing on the guitar.

  • thank you! The camera thing is killing me. It's responsible for that weird popping background noise, too. The other videos were recorded on my boyfriend's laptop, but I wanted to be able to record whenever I wanted. So I went out and bought this stupid Logitech.

  • I didn't even notice the popping noise much.

You should be used to recordings with background noise seeing as how you probably listen to a lot of old blues music.

  • The popping probably happens when the microphone gets a sudden stab of noise in it - try putting it further away from you, or stretch a nylon tight over a wire ring and putting that in front of the mic.

The music sounds great, by the way, again. Excellent work!

  • Funny, the popping didn't occur to me until you mentioned it, I think I have become accustomed to hearing this type of music from old phonographs like the old blind blake stuff...

  • @beardedyodeler dude you don't get it.the blues guys sang and picked from their soul.polished wasn't something they cared about.to entertain and express their feelings was the issue.i think they did a great job and they talk to me.you need to go find some new structured for today tunes, that way they'll be perfect enough for you.

  • @nomiclas I can't even remember what the hell I said, partner. My musical hero is Woody Guthrie, so I know very well that music doesn't need to be played perfect. I agree with you completly. I can't even remember the comment I left haha

  • Nice pickin'

  • Same here love your voice and playing too of course! Thanks for posting.

  • Great cover!

  • Another excellent piece of work. Happy New Year!

  • Happy New Year, Jonno!

  • It's a great song (all his songs are great, though!), nice playing and singing!

  • great job, i first got into the blues with mississippi john hurt and he's still one of my favorite.

About that echo sound you get, i still have the problem too sometimes... i'll let you know if i find a solution

    5 * of course

  • Some people just "have it". Another brilliant job on this one. I always feel like I'm going back about sixty years when I hear your voice. You've damn near mastered these blues.

Oh, need I say five stars?

If I had money and a recording studio, I'd get you and a couple of other great people from YouTube, just hit "record" and see what happens.

  • i was stokd to see you posted a vid,i loved it,i just love your voice!
