Do you archive all of these? I mean, do you date them and put them all in a portfolio? Or do you end up scanning them to a site ( like deviantart or your own website ) and selling the physical copy?
All the drawings I date to the minute. The first 100 are in the book "100 Days of Monsters," complete with stories from the site. Prints of those first 100 are also on sale at store344 dt com. The originals I keep. :^)
Thank you for the compliment, snowey1337. The inspiration really comes out of the ink blot, and then the inspiration for the animation comes from the Monster itself. They always seem to want to do particular things. My main job is to keep tethered to my desk and do the work. :^)
Hahahhhhh! It's always a good laugh to see a new one of your videos. My favorite part is to assume how you'll go off of your original ink spatter, totally fooled me on this one=']]
Glad you like it, mirroredwater. Thank you. I use Faber-Castell PITT artist pens, Staedtler pigment liners, Tombow ABT pens, Sharpies (fine point and wedge tip), and Yasutomo Sumi ink on regular old uncoated bond paper.
Thank you, slyzers. I'm glad you like the drawings. As for the shoes, very few stores cater to the unique arch support needed by today's Monster on the go, while still providing the necessary glamor. (Also, those shoes are really fun to draw. :^)
Not for a while, W&O. I've got a few other plan for the Monsters, and because I work alone it's always one or the other sadly. But there's fun stuff on the way. :^)
What a refreshing new adaption of Daily Monster! I love the animation and music - and of course, as always, the monster is very unique. Keep up the good work.
Hello squeakyevil4. I'm glad you like the new guy. :^) Just ding a whole stash of drawings is alwaus fun (and they do pop up -- drawing only -- on my blog now and then, and also on sharesomecandy, but I'm also having fun learning the animation part, so it's a constant back and forth. What happened to this one? You tell me! (Also, what's Pwn3d? I'm old.)
Pwn is a leetspeak slang term, derived from the verb "own", as meaning to appropriate or to conquer to gain ownership. The term implies domination or humiliation of a rival, used primarily in the Internet gaming culture to taunt an opponent who has just been soundly defeated. It was popular among Counter-Strike gamers before spreading through the more general Internet world. The past tense may also be spelled: pwnd, pwn'd pwn3d, pwnt or powned.
Thank you very much, Modularized. You're kind to explain this to a non-gamer. (If I started, I'd never stop. My three weeks of living without sunlight and on only carrots, dip, and Mountain Dew taught me that back in 1994. Thank you, Sim City. :^) Did this Monster get pwn3d? I'd imagine a movie theater to be safe harbor, but it's not for me to say. :^)
Thank you, artcrazed. I'm glad you like it. Yeah, the Daily Monsters have become Highly Intermittent Monsters, mostly because I'm trying to push what I do with them beyond the initial drawing. Once they go beyond blinking or waving at you things suddenly get extremely time-intensive. Especially when you're learning everything from scratch. :^D
fantastic!!
