  • wow. that bass really sings. literally.

  • Wow! Very nice man! This bass looks exactly like a Carvin 6 string I played years ago. Just like it. Very good video! Nice job!

  • can you please help us with the scales used between 1:12 and 1:52?...think my ear is still not used to jazz...

  • crazy

  • I'm not gonna call myself a "Hater" to six string basses, but what is so desirable about them? In my opinion it just seems like a normal guitar gone down an octave or so....

  • @ethsailliamswa Whats desirable about them is that you have a four string bass with an extended range in both directions. You can go down to B, which is important to the sound of genres like gospel and R&B, and you can also go higher for soloing while staying "in the box" if you know anything about four finger fretting technique. It's not just a guitar an octave lower, it's a bass with extra range so you can do more. Now how you choose to play it is another matter ...

  • @rockin982 Thanks for pointing that out. :)

  • Beautiful BMT6EG from one BMT6EG owner to another!

  • baritone guitars are completely different from six string basses, the baritone is basically a lower sounding guitar while a six string bass is a modified bass, and the first six string bass was made by anthony jackson which he called a contrabass, NOT a baritone, by the way eadgbe tuning on a six is an insult to most bassist :S

  • Nice!!! What pickups are those and what not?

  • Nice and smooth.. I can dig it!

  • the standard tuning of 6 string basses is EADGBE but an octave down

  • @1FenderGuy

-Sorry to say, but the posting of BEADGC is the the "standard" for 6 string basses. Buy a set of strings -check the gauges and you will see they are set up for that. You can do your tuning and some do - but most think of 6 string as a 5 string with a high C. If you want to think of it in standard guitar style tuning - but down to "B" then tune to BEAD F# B - that will give you what you are looking for (if you play at the 5th fret it will be in a position like a guitar but lower)

  • @1FenderGuy no it's not. that for a six string electric guitar. 6 string basses are always standard tuned in BEADGC.

  • @Basstard22 On the Fender Bass six it is EADGBE like a guitar but a octave down

  • @1FenderGuy are you sure about that? would be a bit weird if a 5 string has BEADG and 6 string will be EADGBE...

  • @Basstard22 I am sure look at the fretted americana demos

  • @Basstard22 Well it was a baritone guitar they had introduced in the 60's

  • @1FenderGuy Right... Anyway, 6 strings are always standard tuned in BEADGC ;-)

  • @Basstard22 Try EADGBE tuning and post a video then ull notice the difference. the 6 string basses are baritone guitars!

  • @1FenderGuy 6 strings basses aren't baritones! basses and baritones are 2 different instruments with different ways of playing and sound. plus a six string bass has a 34 or 35 inch scale length. baritones have a 27 inch scale length.

  • @Basstard22 Well my mate has a 6 string bass he uses EADGBE tuning alot. I call it the baritone bass

  • @1FenderGuy because YOU call it the baritone bass, DOESN'T mean it is a baritone bass! 6 string basses are basses, baritones are baritones!

  • @Basstard22 Just try EADGBE tuning and see how it sounds.

  • @1FenderGuy Hm.. I'm not so sure if i'll like that. BEADGC is good enough for me, plus in my opion, EADGBE tuning for a bass, is allmost like you are a wannabe guitarist. i love too play with a low B string, so i'll keep it like that!

  • Masterful.

  • Man what chords are those sounds great?

  • @SmileElectric7 minor 7s and major maj7s (some of them may be plain major 7, its hard to see what fret the middle strings is at, but to me it sounds like major maj7s). You dont need a guitar when you got a bass with lots of strings!

  • Wonderfully done !

  • what is the mark of that bass? is it cort a6? You`ve got thiner strings? EADGCF?

  • Its a 1993 Ken Smith BMT - Standard tuning of BEADGC.
