Clearly, the person who thinks Obama was humiliated is delirious. Obama wons hands down, McCain's best line was about Bush, but Obama's hit McCain back, and had the best policies, where McCain lacked substance!
It's interesting to see the CNN/Opinion Research Corp. polls for each debate. Obama was seen to win all three: 51-38 for the first, 54-30 for the second, and 58-31 for the last, so it seems there is agreement that he has got better as McCain has declined - becoming more and more an angry, bitter, incoherent, and very old, man flailing about with no sense of direction. My respect for the judgement of Americans is starting to return, after I had lost it when they chose to elect Bush twice!
actually,as I remember now, I remember most media thought Bush lost the '04 debate but (upon more research here) he managed a tie with Kerry.
That having been said, according to you McCain should also have an advantage because according to Obama he is Bush and running for another term...in other words he has the advantage of an incumbency.
I think that he made a weighted decision not to say that because he knows how xenophobic the states can be. He doesn't need ignorant voters getting cold feet because of his (superficially-speaking, of course) UnAmerican roots.
McCain is not only incoherent and a shambles, he has NO regard for, or understanding of, the real impact of the FTA, or the responsibility to protect the human rights of those in other countries. He has NO vision, no appreciation of the need for real change, and seems to still think that Trickle-down Reagonomics is the solution, despite the fact that the financial melt-down we are now experiencing is effectively the legacy of the Thatcher and Reagan philosophies coming home to roost.
BTW, I notice that McCain keeps referring to sending hundreds of billions of dollars to countries (for oil) that don't really like the US. What he fails to realise is that, under the current leadership, and the direction he wants to continue, NO countries actually "like" the US - it's just a matter of having no choice about dealing with them. I don't think Americans realise HOW MUCH the rest of the world regards the USA with contempt, whether it be in Europe, Africa, Asia, South America or Aust.
Actually, the single greatest supplier of oil to the US is Canada, and we like you quite a bit, really. Not only because you consume our natural resources, but because you are about to elect Obama!
Exactly - and it's not the American people that are disliked, it's the American governments foreign policies - how long can Americans be exempt for taking some responsibility for allowing this to happen? The time is up! That's way so many Americans have WOKEN-UP & are fighting back for their countries dignity.
Obama is clearly a well travelled man of the world. Just because McSame snapped up a free junket trip (paid for by tax payers) to 'pal around with terrorists' in Columbia, obviously does not give him an understanding of free-trade...and to imply it does is childish in the extreme.
Apparently, McCain's knowledge of South America didn't prevent him from thinking that Spain was a South American country!! Seems that travelling to places for photo-ops doesn't compare to actually finding out the facts!
Read the transcript - he clearly thought he was talking about a Latin American Country. I guess, to be fair, that with a name like "Zapatero", the Spanish president has no right not to be in Latin America!
Apparently they asked him the question immediately after a discussion about Chavez in Venezuela...clearly they were trying to trip him up...but he never did say this...Spanish Media assumed he meant this.
Yes and with a name like Zapatero...who wouldn't think he was President of Latin American Country???
To answer your question: a man who had a basic sound knowledge of world politics would know what country Zapatero was from - it's an insult to the republican party that McSame has been elected as there brightest & best politician, & is being watched by the rest of the world while he continuses to show such blantant ignorance.
Nope, he went on an all expenses paid photo op. to Columbia...trying to buy Columbia's Narco-Presidents futher support.
It's a complex situation in Columbia which can not be dabated in a 500 letter post, but I will say that anyone who supports, hides & funds assasins is a terrorist, and this is exactly what McSame's friend, Alvaro Uribe is doing - with the financial backing of GW Bush.
I'm afraid not Fred. Obama is a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, that is why he went to Kenya plus there were no terrorists palling around with him.
Nope...Obama when to Kenya at the beginning of his campaign to pose in photo-ops with Aids victims to be used later in campaign films and advertising....plus... he never announced the results of his HIV test...just sayin.
The only thing humiliating, was that McSame tried the same old childish attacks & yet again Obama showed he had a much deeper understanding of the issues.
It's no use cutting Obama's response off, everyone around the world heard it, 'live' & we know who is the only man for the job.
Humiliates? Try again. McCain still believes that drilling offshore will make a difference in the cost of gas at the pumps, wrong. Why do you suppose that oil companies based in the US will not seek and demand the the same profits they can get by selling THEIR oil to Asian markets? It's THEIR oil my friend, not the US's. Right now, the US exports about 9% of it's oil, so how can McCain expect us to believe that "more drilling" is the answer?
Are you suggesting that "drill baby drill" is an appropriate response to America's current energy problem, simply beacuse 65% of Americans "want" drilling?
Well, I guess you've gotyourself convinced, which is probably all that matters to you. In reality, drilling is a distraction from the energy problems facing America.
Clearly, the person who thinks Obama was humiliated is delirious. Obama wons hands down, McCain's best line was about Bush, but Obama's hit McCain back, and had the best policies, where McCain lacked substance!

but you are probably a Democrat and thought McCain lost before the debate before it started

Funny that you should mention Bush...Bush was re-elected after Polls showed he lost the 3rd(last) debate in 2004.
FredFoothand 3 years ago
Hmm, clutching at straws there, I think Fred. He wasn't 10% behind then, and he had the huge advantage of incumbency!
Lacastra 3 years ago

Yeah. Obama was so humiliated that every poll, including Fox News, says he won the debate. Enjoy those numbers!
buriedinlight 3 years ago 4
funny that... FOX News hasn't released any POLL results from debate last night
FredFoothand 3 years ago
True. But "TIME" magazine has, saying McCain won on ALL issues by a slight margin!
SatNamTree 3 years ago
TIME magazine has? Okay , according to who at TIME magazine??? What poll??? Who sponsors the poll??? Who ownes TIME magazine?
You have to ask yourself these things in stead of just taking "TIME Magazine's" word for it.
FredFoothand 3 years ago
The TIME results represented the opinion of one staff writer, who obviously wears red.
SatNamTree 3 years ago
Hey... so there we have it. Why bother having the election?..just let this TIME "staff writer" decide who should be Prez.
FredFoothand 3 years ago
Isn't Indonesia technically south of the border?
Ketchupclaw 3 years ago
I don't know why Obama didn't point that out.
FredFoothand 3 years ago
He was probably afraid it would have confused McCain so much that he would have threatened to invade Indonesia!
Lacastra 3 years ago
no he probably just didn't want to come off as an intellectual elitist wise ass

Apparently Obama has never been to Mexico , Central or South America, or the Caribbean...that's a pretty big part of the World.
BTW...McCain didn't pal around with terrorists he was in Latin America to discuss free-trade.

No..you are referring to what Spanish press assumed McCain thought during an interview in Miami when asking him about Zapatero.
McCain never thought Spain was part of South America

Oh Fred, drag your self up from the bottom of that barrel mate, your starting to sound a little nuts.
mayanchild 3 years ago 4
Obama took HIV test when he visited Kenya to promote Aid's awareness... however he wouldn't say whether the test was positive or negative.
Yes this is a fact... I may be nuts but this fact remains true

I never realized that myself. Seems like a Prez should have at least been to Mexico at some point.
