Not trying to say that PC is better, just saying that it's always first to do most of these things that consoles do.

But the xbox has one of, if not the, most powerful graphics card on the market while the ps3 has literally the exact same graphics card that my dads 8 year old alienware laptop has. Not a similar one, but the EXACT SAME card. It's no use to be able to calculate information but not be able to display it. So for physics calculation, go with ps3. For gaming, go xbox

@TheFXGuy lol your 7mil% wrong and you should check your source. on the GPU front the xbox is 4.8% better then the ps3 reality synthesizer but the cell broadband engine it like 8 high end GPU stuck together here is a table for you ps3 = 100 xbox = 80 wii = 50 xbox = 25 ps2 = 25 psp = 22 games cube = 20 DS = 15 bigger score = better for graphics :)
@tj00139 Nonsense. Cell isn't nearly as capable as a GPU. For starters, the $46 RSX has about twice the FLOPS performance Cell has. Compared to a high-end GPU, the entire Cell (PPE + usable SPEs) is 6.07 times slower than a GeForce GTX470 and 11.25 times slower than a Radeon HD6870.
@TheFXGuy The Xbox 360 has a R500-based graphics card from 2005. It's NOWHERE close to being one of the most powerful GPUs on the market. It's compareble to the $70 products sold today, namely Radeon HD5570 and GeForce GT240.
Also, PS3's RSX uses the G70 chip, which was also used on the GeForce 7800 series, but never on a mobile GPU. So it's impossible any laptop has the same graphics card as the PS3.

From what I heard the PS3 has an excellent ability to handle realistic "ragdoll" collisions. I'm studying this stuff in high school physics right now and I can relate what's going on to what I've learned. Pretty cool!

They took the overall concept of the Duck and turned it into a game, called Super Rub'a'Dub. The game sucks hardcore... It doesn't have any battleships or anything, just some imprisoned ducks that you have to free and send them down a drain somewhere. -_-

I can see how some of these tech demos have helped out PS3 development.
The ducks = Colossal amount of enemies in God of War III.
The cups = Sphere Project. Motion control based on shape and size of object relative to camera.
