  • Love that Miles Davis solo!!!!

  • This is among the best piece of funk and music I have ever heard! So groovy, rythmically good and the excellence of both the bass, guitar, the saxophone and the trumpet is astonishing! Then it fades out with an absolutelly incredible solo.

Thank you for uploading! 5/5 + favourited!

  • THAT SAXOPHONE!!

  • You just don't get any badder than Kool and the Gang.

  • Im a white boy, but back in 73, us white boys loved this shit. Kool and the Gang. Best ever.

  • Hey Bobby: Anytime a band, especially Kool and the Gang, dedicates a song to James Brown, it's gotta be funky. This performance is the stuff.

  • one of my favorites from kool remember 1973 when I use to funk hard

  • Use to play this with my band from Philly when i was in college. We always had a helluva good time and never failed to move the crowd. Kool and the Gang was the preeminent instrumental funk band of the late 60's, early 70's and this live version is killer. I said whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa , whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa yeah!

  • Since I born I´ve been ready for the Funk.

  • owwwwwwww yeah !

  • uhuuuuu wwweeee!!! blaze it!!!

  • DAYUM... That slap bass is kicking the one on the real!!!!

  • Not victor wooten on drums but whomever the brother is he sho nuff is on the ONE! This is one of the K & G's best live performances I have ever seen since I first saw them them on the Don Kirschner's Midnight Special broadcasts in the mid-1970s. Funk Rulez!

  • victor wooten on drums?

  • LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINDOOOOOOOOOO

  • @motatoable como te compreendo xD

  • eeeeeeeeeeeeeeever HAARD

  • coooooooooooooolest brothers in the planet

  • Agreed. I personally like hiphop sometimes but it would be way better if real music came back into "style". And this isn't the only one that should come back either

  • good music is good music.....and this is good music,Hip Hop and Rap aint music, anyone can steal a beat and yap about how bitchin he thinks he is or how many bitches he's nailed, these guys had talent.....AND PLAYED THEIR OWN INSTRUMENTS!...god bring this stuff back please!

  • Man!.. I miss this funky stuff...

  • I meant to say the keyboard is doubling the bass line it seems.

  • One of the keyboard players is playing the bass line and Kool is just playing the pops. Watch his hands.

  • Graet I vove it Kool&gang

  • It's a shame that there are no bands out there now...what happen to the music..??

  • Skip Martin (trumpet) was obviously a Miles fan.

  • very nice sound, he did very well, that aint ez....

  • I remember playing this song with my high school friends . Love Kool and the Gang. Jazziacs is the first name of this group in the 60's and you can tell by the horn playing. this band has evolved over the years....can't get enough of that funky stuff...yeah!!!!

  • This is why Obama won. Because there are white folk who love soul. Check out the crowd. Those aren't racist teabaggers watching this show.

  • What year was this?

  • Not bad, but I'm just NOT feeling Kool's tone on bass. He's going for that "contemporary" sound that you hear in a lot of gospel and "contemporary jazz" these days. Way too TREBLY for my taste, and very far away from Kool's classic THUDDING tone (courtesy of a Fender P-bass).

  • @Odawg96 wow dude. yes you're right

  • @Odawg96 Except for 25-30 years ago it wasn't contemporary LOL!

  • Thats Skip Martin on trumpet yall

  • kool and the gang brought the funk

  • Oh Yeaaahhh...lovin that bass n brass! And the Sax! Good God!

  • Thats a great trumpet solo y'all. Sounds like Miles!

  • Thats a great trumpet solo y'all.

  • These groups played instruments that is the difference

  • Love that sax.

  • Such a dazzling concert! Such a legendary band ! Truly Jazz-Funk masters!! They are born to play music!!

  • I saw them live in Atlantic City a few years ago and I saw them back in 1978,,too bad the guitar player died, he was a good one when he was younger

  • @lcolby11 Yes! But The Great Charles Smith was a great guitar player throughout his entire life!

  • I saw them live in Atlantic City a few years ago and I saw them back in 1978,,too bad the guitar player died

  • now that's what you call some funky stuff.......yeah

  • Guitarist needs more feeling, less shred

  • @myownservant Shawn Mc Quiler, Kool and The Gang's guitarist, is a truly gifted musician man!! Believe me; i've seen them on stage so many times and even recently in Paris - France. It was phenomenal !!!
