With a Eurail pass, the only extra charge is the price of a seat reservation. Except in Germany where it is free. (Why that is? I don't know!)

@Gian2812 The ETR 470 is an utter failure, it's IT components and hygenic services are disgusting to say the least. The ETR 610 it's actually not bad at all.
