I was thinking about doing the 'loop' that morning, seeing this footage makes me a little jealous, but I did see them bothe at Colton Jct, as my video shows. Brilliant bit of main line running for all those who witnessed it! Its no surprise that the 'Black 5' got ahead with only 2 on compared to O-Crom, but in the race up to speed I bet the crews were just thrashing their mounts!
Two locos running at speed on the mainline past each other is one thing, but running in tandem is something else! I bet the two footplate crews were enjoying themselves. Fantastic film!
honestly, i have never been more jealous of riders of a charter or lineside photographers than I am right now with what happened today! brilliant filming of this extremely rare event
