I'll be honest, if it wasn't for Glee, I wouldn't even know about this song. That said, I love how raw Kara's version is. It's coming from a beautiful place, and you can hear how Celine's version is respectful, but not nearly as genuine.
Same goes for Lea; tons of sheer talent, but a citing. A reading. Kara means it, and I feel it. So, yeah, she should partner up with stronger writers and musicians, if it means songs like these. I feel dumb for missing this in the first place.

Seriously I dont even understand how there is a debate on this. While I love Celine and her voice, her version sounds so studio and it doesnt have as much emotion, which is understandable. There's a reason Dion's version is so similar. DioGuardi produced Dion on the album that features this song. Dion wanted a more contemporary sound so hired DioGuardi to write for her and work with her to get this different than normal Celine sound.
I think you will find it was Dave and not Kara. Dave was writing tracks for "The Pussycat Dolls and Jimmie Iovine sent Kara to England to work with Dave. This and numerous other tracks resulted from that collaboration. In Celine's video for this song you will see Dave as he was invited to take part, given the work he did in writing and producing the song.

wow, this is a much better version than Celine or Glee's. It has so much heart. I was turned off by Kara as a judge but I've changed my mind. She knows what she's talking about when she gives them advice (she is still a show-off though)

I love ALL versions of this song (Kara, Celine and Glee) - I first heard the Glee version and fell in love with it. But I must say hearing Kara sing this song it feels more real compared to Celine's and the Glee version (no offence to either of them cause their versions are stil brilliant)

I'll be honest, if it wasn't for Glee, I wouldn't even know about this song. That said, I love how raw Kara's version is. It's coming from a beautiful place, and you can hear how Celine's version is respectful, but not nearly as genuine.
Same goes for Lea; tons of sheer talent, but a citing. A reading. Kara means it, and I feel it. So, yeah, she should partner up with stronger writers and musicians, if it means songs like these. I feel dumb for missing this in the first place.

Seriously I dont even understand how there is a debate on this. While I love Celine and her voice, her version sounds so studio and it doesnt have as much emotion, which is understandable. Kara wrote this song from her own heart, when she sings it, it almost becomes more than a song and it just hits you with SO MUCH emotion! I love Kara's voice and this song rocks when she sings it, especially since it was hers in the first place.

There's a reason Dion's version is so similar. DioGuardi produced Dion on the album that features this song. Dion wanted a more contemporary sound so hired DioGuardi to write for her and work with her to get this different than normal Celine sound.

I think you will find it was Dave and not Kara. Dave was writing tracks for "The Pussycat Dolls and Jimmie Iovine sent Kara to England to work with Dave. This and numerous other tracks resulted from that collaboration. In Celine's video for this song you will see Dave as he was invited to take part, given the work he did in writing and producing the song.

Celine knew Kara had recorded the song and she also worked closely with Kara in the studio when recording her version. Celine has nothing but the highest respect for Kara.
I love both versions but I was made to choose then I'd choose Kara's version over Celine's.
