The point of the video is to show of the snare sound and I think he managed that very well. I mean it's good that he didn't play too much or too good cuz, then we get a more realistic view of the drum.
I love my 14 X 6 inch Edge. It has awesome overtone and sustain from the brass which is awesome, but I use a coated powerstroke 3 with dot head instead of a coated ambassador (stock head) to keep that under control in live situations.
Amazing snare. I have a 13 x 7 maple snare and I'd really like a 14 x 6. I personally think putting moongel on any snare, especially this one, would be doing it an injustice.
i have one and it's a killer. From a baby sleeping to an atomic bomb, that's how quiet and how loud you want it to be. One time the manager in the club had to tell me to soften it a little because i was making too many people's ears bleed.
Great playing! You guys should do a video on how you're micing your setups! There's always nice accurate (we can assume) sound in your videos, very nice to watch.
Sick playing bro

Awesome, awesome job on this video. Also, the snare sounds incredible, it has just enough ring to fill in the blanks.

What do you think is the best size to play rock, metal and pop. 5X14,6x14 OR 7x13 ?
amortec500 2 years ago
I'd go with 6x14. It's way more versatile.
