For those who don't know this, if you are planning getting this on the DS don't. Get it for PC, you can buy it on GOG.com for a really good price! Plus it is probably the easiest thing to find.

People, don't buy this piece of crap! I understand you love the original game but this conversion is the worst conversion that's ever been released! There are countless graphic errors, the top screen doesn't really show enlarged zooms of the bottom screen but only the same screen in WORSE QUALITY!! Also, there are plenty of typos and it's the only DS game EVER to freeze and crash!! Don't waste your money, better wait for a fanmade DS-conversion or something...

@SonataFanatica Couldn't agree more. I was horrified at the quality of this. Opoosite the book/portal room in the video above are a series of posts with symbols. Match them up to make the boat rise out of the water...I'm sure that would be great if this crap port to the DS even showed the symbols! I should have taken the game right back but just threw it in the corner of the bedroom in disgust. there it sits today, over a year later.

trace memory. and its a much better thinking game than that one. trace requires knowledge of the storyline. myst doesnt give you a storyline:you hafta find it out yourself. one of the best and innovative games out there (^_^)

I played Myst all the time while growing up. =D I beat it in elementary school, but dad gave me hints and stuff. xD; I've got most of it memorized. I love Myst!!

Humm a classic game like myst on the DS, intresting. Ok for all you chibi out there, this game is easly 10+ years old, it has a very engaging story and requires you to think. So its not everyone cup of tea im sure. But in its time, it was the BEST game out there, and catapulted PC gaming into a reality, rather than a misoner.

no this Myst it is easily one of the best point n' click adventures ever, even if it don't quite meet todays standerds it's amizing game, that is so given you're willing to take your time and accually think ofeten ,

I'm sure of this being the game Myst ,whether or not its authentic is anther question all together (I'm a huge fan of the series) and I've played the orginal many enogh times to recognize it when i see it)

You ~could~ get yourself a UMPC and use Daemon Tools to copy the Riven and Exile discs to the hard drive. They range from $700 to $3,000 but with proper emulators, it could play PC, Mac, PSP and what-have-you.

For idiots like this. Its a demo DS as you can tell by the description and they have larger ones because you cant put a connector on the smaller stylus's as well as a big one and also some stupid kid cant bash the shit out of the big one and break it even though thats hard to do. shit happens

NO. Cyan Worlds (makers of Myst series) said they don't have any plans to redo or port Riven to more modern systems. (hence, PSP/DS)

As a matter of fact, the original PC version was not 3D scrolling, only realMyst was. (the 3D scrolling was introduced in Myst III)

Myst is a pretty hard game. I still can't do the puzzle that makes you match the sounds on the keyboard to the sounds on the dials. Since there is no US Release date, I'll be importing this one.
