i lived in Elmsdale N.S in 2006-7 i did get to the Cape 1 time it was an awesome place to visit i bet its fantastic to live there ......this video takes me back to the drive that i took to get to The Cape thanks for posting it ment alot to see

Ok folks, there are two different songs being spoken about here. Both sung by Rita, but only one written by her. The title song of this video was written by Rita, but the other song, Farewell to Nova Scotia, was only recently recorded by Rita, but she did not write it. Both are about the whole province, but the pictures featured in this video are of Cape Breton, Ritas birthplace. The song in this video is the original version as Rita wrote & sung it.

@kefka3 not sure which song your refering to but I went to Rita McNeil's website and She's Called Nova Scotia was written by her words and music. Not sure about the other song though.

Ok thought so :) did research on that song there seems to be slight variations to it *shrugs* not sure which is better was first time I heard this song. :) Not from Nova Scotia but love the songs none the less.

Seeing your pics and listening Rita Macneil's Farewell to Nova Scotia, i think her version is the best version of this song.

It brings back my memory in Cape Breton. Although I am a Chinese, but I have a special feeling to Nova Scotia, and I do take it as my second hometown.

I will be back one day....Thanks for posting your pics and the lovely song.
