There were only about 3 people there interested in anything before 'Invisible Touch'. I know, 'cos I was one of them, and I met the other 2. I was standing just under Phil's nose down at the front, and it was a bit surreal seeing them in daylight, surrounded by people more interested in talking into their phones than watching the gig. I travelled right through Europe to watch the band. They were great on the day, but I'd never go back to Denmark. The most boring country I've ever been to.

One reason any band lowers the key isn't necessarily because of the singer, but just for want of a different style.

Agree with Yogiphildas. Phil was having numerous vocal problems, both during the recording of "We Can't Dance" and the following 1991-92 tour. His voice is in better shape now.

Sure the song is sung in a lower key, yet Collins sings this and the older material reminiscent of the way they were originally recorded, something Collins has stated he intended to do.

Seen Genesis 12 times on this European tour...Phil still sings amazingly well! So what if key is dropped? We do not notice and the rendition of the songs was awesome! Great set covering most periods! Phil's voice was in much better shape than the 92 tour!

Re the stupid comment peter Mayer made regarding the keys being changed, these songs were recorded 30 years ago, which means that Phil is 30 years older!!! your range deminishes as you get older, as a singer in his late 40's i should know!!

Stupid comments? I just heard a clip of Steve Winwood doing Sea Of Joy, a much older song than any of Genesis's, in the exact same key. I was and someways, still am a Genesis fan. But older Genesis. I can't dance, Jesus He Knows Me, etc is lame. Period. I'm just glad I saw them in 77 for $4, and in 78 and 80. I was done with them after ABACAB.

Can't Phil sing anymore? Why are all the songs down a whole step? Ripples should be in E, not D. If John Anderson can still sing all his original keys (and at a high pitch) Phil should be able to.

Genesis have no idea what makes their classic catalogue so classic. They cut off Fifth of firth after the solo, and cut down the instrumental in Ripples and slowed it down to near boredom. They said during their sit downs before the tour that they realized they were hurting their songs by doing medleys, yet here they are again cutting their classics in half, butchering them. I can't stand it, Genesis have completely lost touch with their prog rock days because they don't them seriously

Peter Gabriel never performed this song. This is from "Trick of the Tail", Peter was already out of the band. Phil is the original singer of this song.

Anyone who has followed Genesis live over the years will know that mistakes are nothing new to Collins :-) They had talked about trying this over the first few shows, and dumping it if it didn't work. I really hope that they keep it in, it sure worked for me!!
