I had the Veritech. I was disappointed that it didn't transform. They could have atleast rigged it for Guardian mode.

Funny enough Roy or Max were my Skull 1 pilots ( Max actually does become the Skull-1 pilot for Robotech 2)

@CaptainPoovabladoo No, Transformers was not way better. You couldn't really compare the two. One was all robotic beings from another universe. The other was all human based battle pods fighting against aliens from another universe.

Now.. you could compare Transformers to Gobots, and we know who won that battle. Not even the Rocklords Movie could help Gobots.

Shouldn't have the Zentradi been the size of Barbie dolls when they came out with these action figures; I am aware their bioengineering allows them to be human-size clone, but Khyron never would had bothered to try it.

@Bla31n Well, toy's aren't usually to scale you know, otherwise... Khyron would be the same size as the Battroid / Valykyrie in robot mode (it is) and his Glaug battle pod would be even bigger.

Oh my Goodness, I had one of those, got it for christmas in 1987!!! there was some cool toys back in the days!

I had that Veritech fighter and Rick Hunter/Hikaru Ichijo figure - (lets not start fighting here) but was always super jealous of my mates Transformer Jetfire as it was metal, of correct scaling and actually transformed.

I also had a Rand and Zor Prime figure, but no more mecha sadly. A "Centurions" figure always stood in as a handy Zentradi (and was of correct scale to fight the Jetfire toy). Wish I still had them!

Let not forget that Hasbro had release jet fire which was the Macross veritech and Matchbox didn't have the rights release the veritech Hasbro own the right at the time.

the whole thing with MechWarrior and Robotech is kinda complex.

Near as I can tell, Robotech's Veritech fighters and the battle pods came first, and the guys who made MW thought the ideas were cool.

Unfortunately, apparently Harmony Gold, (The guys who made SDF Macross into Robotech,) didn't like that idea. There was much lawyering.

Oh, and it said "Rick hunter and the Veritech are," so you're all good. :D

your right about that. the guys at mech warrior outright stole the robotech platform and then incorporated it into their role playing system. shame on them. they were given a ceace and disist on behalf of harmony gold.

wow harmony gold accusing someone of ripping them off? As if THEY created the VF series of aircraft. As if THEY created Macross.That's all right though Macross and Mechwarrior lasted longer than robotech. yes robotech has a new movie but it took 20 years I believe to make their own original movie,With out the use of the Valkyries and and Battlepods that came from Studio Nue's Macross.

Hey, don't shoot the messenger. I think you may be getting upset because I said they stole it from Robotech. I know full well Macross was the original, but quite frankly Harmony gold OWNED the north american rights, fair and square, and could do whatever they wanted, as painful as that may be. The guys at Mech Warrior did not, and did something spectacularely stupid without even a legal, let alone moral, leg to stand on. Hence my comment.
