I'm surprised you didn't mention some of the major makeup drugstore outlets like Bonjour (majorly cheap and a wide variety) and Colormix; they're not as concentrated as the Sasa branches, whereby you could find one on almost every 2 streets, but they have a fair dispersion across the city, and are often a lot cheaper than Sasa, Bonjour in particular.
@whateverokayy over a year ago and I have done a more recent vid in May this year, which was following a more recent visit to HK. In this latter vid, I mention that Bonjour shops are more visible now and seem to have grown.
I am so mad because I went to Hong Kong for a couple days when I visited the Philippines and at that time I did not know about all the cosmetic and jewelry bargains. I wish I could go back! Love the video :)
Wow thank you so much! I'm going to HK and China this summer for a month and I was really curious what makeup brands they had and the prices! This was very informative and helpful.
I was wondering if there are any specific brands that may be only sold there that I should keep an eye out for? Like how Gosh is only sold in Canada/UK etc..
I miss HK so much! And I don't know what I'd do if Sasa didn't deliver internationally.
I'm still recovering from my makeup spree last summer. Most of it went on things in Sephora. I constantly ask myself why they don't have it in the UK.
I remember it being same price as MAC is in HK (slightly more ££ than UK but given exchange rate) - I also got a discount on my total purchase so in the end it worked out well for me
I would move to hongkong just for the makeup haha!!! When i go i buy EVERYTHING from ZARA (we dont have it in Australia) and the rest i buy is makeup. SaSa is my favourite!! :) oxox
I almost fainted when you said there is a Sephora in HK... I googled it and apparently they are planning to open several more... love ur videos! just suscribed! :)
I'm so glad you made this video! I'm moving to hong kong in seven weeks to teach English for a year! So excited I can't wait to go and look forward to visiting these shops, do you know if you can buy bare escentuals make up out there? xxxx
Aww thanks! I can't wait! Can I just ask another question, how hard do you think it will be to buy trousers in longer lengths in Hong Kong? I'm 5'9 so, for example, in topshop I would buy 34" length trousers - I wouldn't need as long as topshop tall but just longer than the standard 32" - just need an idea for thinking about what to pack!
sure! I think it will be hard, I am a UK 12 and 5'7" and clothes come up on my small. I think best to buy stuff in the UK as the high street in HK not so good for us more 'European' sized girls! Also, the largest shoe size they normally go up to is 39/6. hth!
Wow, thanks for all the tips and inside information on where to go get makeup in Hong Kong. I am planning a trip to HK next year so I'll keep these shops in mind.
i grew up in hk until i got married which is 15 yrs ago. hearing you mention all the places bring back lots of memories and how much hk has changed. i'm planning to visit real soon and i've already planned out my japanese makeup list because that's hard to get here in the u.s. do you think they sell labello there? i think i may have seen it a long time go.
Aww....trip down memory lane. I always skip down the lane each time I go back : D
I'm sure Watsons does sell labello - I remember buying it there when I was a teenager....but pretty sure if not there, then Sa Sa or other small cosmetic stores wld have it.
I love these virtual tours, I am so envious of their amazing makeup selection! I must find those niche brands somehow, is there somewhere in UK to buy Canmake do you know? I always wanted to try it, well actually all of those sound amazing... hmm maybe a holiday is in order!? xx
I hvent heard of getting Canmake in the UK. I even checked Chinatown & they don't sell it : ( Yes, a hols visit is a must to HK! Sometimes I feel like their tourist board! : D
excellent video! Makes me want to go back just to shop!! I will really make use of this info, even if I have to beg inlaws to get me something, at least I will know where to send them!
I'm using Clinique Cream e/s (taupe one) as a base, MAC Smut e/s on lid and then MAC Subtle pigment on crease with MAC Brule on brows. Gosh Metallic brash e/l and Maybelline F&S mascara! ty!
Wow! Great review and very informative!! I used to go to Causeway Bay a lots and I love Sasa too. And you still speak good Cantonese - 西洋菜街 (Sai Yeung Choi Street)!
I'm going to Hong Kong in January, still the same shops?

There are so many sasas and bonjours it's ridiculous (in a good way!) - they're always SO bombarded with people -laugh-.

but yeah, thanks so much for this video!
