How ridiculous is this? Is there another league in the world that throws its "all-star" players together for one match? Sorry, but probably not. This sport is not like basketball or American football, where individual skill is more important than teamwork. The national teams are the only place that "all star" teams should be assembled. I'd rather see the MLS champion take on the Football League Championship titleholder (QPR, this year) just to see how the MLS compares with England's 2nd tier.

I was "drug" to countless college games of both sports by my parents and wasted my fall weekends watching "handegg" on the TV. Only as an adult did I realize that American FB is a commercial-driven charade. Basketball has some atheletic merit, but pales in comparison with the beautiful game, where players play 70+ matches/yr running 7-8 miles per match on avg.
