The fact of the matter: I’m not sure the American populace has the moxie to vote for someone who tells the truth. I think they want the ‘showman’ who spins the yarn, all the while the populace seemingly laps it up. Republicans and Democrats are engaged in the destruction of the middle class by printing trillions, which punishes savers, while rewarding those willing to go into debt. I’m not sure the American populace has the critical thinking skills to make thoughtful decisions.
I thought the Social Security surplus has been spent by the government, it is another IOU. The federal govt does not report it's debt to SS on it's debt report because it is an internal government spending, if it did the debt would be much higher. As soon as the SS tax is unable to match its pay out, the government will need to cough up the money it borrowed from the Social Security Trust Fund. Where will that come from?
Social Security has been such a Ponzi scheme and a drain on our paychecks, and needs to be changed, reformed or audited like the Fed. Showing what a rip off it is.
I agree with a lot of his points, but raising social security age? I guess libertarians expect that people should use the money they're putting into it to invest it themselves for retirement. If that's the case, we need to educate the public to invest properly and carefully. Make it a course in school, like home economics used to teach use household skills.
If we want to leave people to their own devices, EDUCATION is key.

I always judge people by two main criteria. The first being whether or not their personality is based in liberty or control. The second being are they prohibitionist or liberators. Ron Paul is based in liberty and Rand Paul is based in control. Listen carefully to him. He wants to fix government where Ron wants to restore liberty.
Rand says we have to make sure we pick the right person for president but does not mention that the right person is Ron Paul. He also wants to raise social security age and then wants to only cut the fat out of the military but does not bolding go out to bringing the troops home.

I've studied economics, history, how health care works in other countries, and many of them have it wrong. Governments distort history/reality to rationalize unnecessary increases in power all the time, and this is the case with health care problems. They misdiagnose the problem to justify the end they see.. The state has always wished to expand without regard to true facts.
Don't get me wrong I respect the hell out of Ron Paul, but Rand Paul is the far better speaker, despite even his few word fumbles. His speech managed to be as BOLD as his fathers, but far more marketable.
We are so screwed. I look up there and I see only one Rand Paul. I was against cloning until now. I say we clone Rand Paul hundreds of times at an accelerated speed. Rand, we need a hair sample please.
