  • I read the last page of this book and put out my last cigarette 11 days ago. I worried (needlessly) that I didn't 'feel different' and that the book wouldn't work for me like it had so many others. The side effects of physical withdrawal were tiny.. a bit of insomnia, and like he describes in the book, an almost hunger pang feeling once in awhile. I smoked at least 20 cigarettes a day for 15 years, and because of this $20 book, I'll never smoke again. Don't hesitate, buy it!

  • This is a pure winner. It works, it's great. The first time I read it I quit before I finished the book and hadn't one for a whole year. I was silly to start again after a year. Once again I listen to it on my iPod this time and have stopped completely for 2 weeks now. No gimmicks, no substitutes just stopped.

  • I've used this and went from 2 packs a day to 0 overnight! I've not had a cigarette in 2 years!

  • Amazing book! I am done with the addiction! Thanks Allen!!

  • Best book ever. at 6 pm today it will be 3 days quit. and unlike my previous quitting attempts not one craving. my addiction was so bad i would pick cigarette butts out of ashtrays and off the streets when i didn't have cigarettes or couldn't afford them. Thanks alan carr RIP

  • The Video is much easier. LOL

    Worked for me.

Thanks Allen. You should be Knighted. Postumously.

  • I take it this book says ur a stupid and disgusting cunt for smoking?

  • @MAZZZIT - No, the book doesn't suggest it in any way. It tells you NOTHING MORE than the reasons WHY you smoke; why your craving starts from the moment you put out your last cigarette; why you put your life's activities on hold for the sake of that extra cigarette. It uses no shock tactics at all. It's nothing more than the truth - almost like brainwashing! You finally come to the conclusion that you are, in fact, a "disgusting c***" because you finally realise how pointless it was.

  • @MAZZZIT actually, the book says the opposite ;)

    p.s.

i stopped smoking about 3 years ago, thanks to this book, and havent touched a cigarette since.

  • 10 weeks since I finished the book and smoked my last cigarette. It worked for me and my wife.

  • @Anglagard1 - My husband and I quit using Allen Carr's CD. It was about 5 or 6 hours long (a good time to listen while keeping busy decorating the house). That was on Sunday, 7th of May, 2006. It worked an absolute treat! It's weird, for the split seconds that we craved thereafter, we only found ourselves laughing it off because his words of reassurance made us feel like prats for taking our craving seriously in the past.

  • I think I go buy this book for my mother, I care about her, so if this helps, I sure will gladly will do it

  • allen carr saved 25 million(!) people from smoking and is truly a legend!!! r.i.p.

    fuck you philip morris :D

  • Yea, I've been looking to quit since the last time I started again, several years back. I was ready, but wanted some kind of program to follow. When a friend suggested this book, I hunted it down. I am now 56 hours in and already enjoying a couple pints of beer without worrying about smoking. How cool is that?

  • i read 25 pages and today i got 24 NON smoking days :) god bless and YOU CAN DO IT TO!!!

  • I tried everything to stop my two-pack-a-day addiction but nothing worked until I read Allen's book, The Easy Way to Stop Smoking. I am now three weeks into my new life as a non-smoker and have absolutely no desire to ever smoke again. I'M FINALLY FREE!

    Rest in Peace Allen.

  • Had my last ciggy about 20 minutes ago. As I listened to the book (audio) along with reading and having watch an hour seminar video, each ciggy till that last recent one was getting gross. But the last, 20 min ago, tasted and smelt like that first one I ever had when I was a kid, GROSS! One line that hit home, "smokers are constantly trying to achieve feeling like a non-smoker through smoker, smoking only relieves the symptoms it has created in the first place"

  • the bit about smoking while reading this book pisses me off..

sounds like a sucker bet for anyone not alreadywith the movement

regardless, if its at my school, town, or city library i WILLread it

  • @radiohasfailedusall did you read it ? and what happened ?

  • @radiohasfailedusall

Actually, the smoking while reading the book is one of the most helpful parts.

A large part of what the book does is destroy the myth that smoking does anything to reduce stress... but you don't really get to understand that until you actually read the book. Tell a smoker they have to stop smoking before they read the book, and they'll never read it, and they'll never be ready to try to stop smoking because of the fear of being deprived.

  • They aren't kidding. I read the book in January 2010 and I'll never smoke again and isn't hard. The hardest thing is getting smokers to read the book. I don't know what they think they have to lose.

  • c hew a lot of gum drink a lot of water, and smoke a bowl or two it helps i promise you its been threee days and i feel like i have a cold, stomach cancer, and brain cancer all in one its so fucked

  • I just quit too! i was two packs a day until last week and its not hard at all.

  • trust me, it works!

  • there is a section in his book where he talks about how given only a little time you start to look healthier, you get a healthy glow back in your face, and your whole being. part of why I quit was a i saw my senior year picture and how healthy i looked as a non-smoker, and how after a 6 yr habit, i looked so much older. i read his book, quit, and now at 27, i have shaved off years in appearence, and i look so much better. when i beer people sometimes think my ID is actually a fake!

  • @cj1982 yeah, that's why I'm quitting. I saw old pictures of myself and how happy I looked, and how beautiful I used to be. And now, I all I see is someone who's tired and sick feeling all the time.

  • @WuHoo21 keep a postive attitude. thats the most important thing. I failed plenty of times before i succeeded, but you have to remember to keep a positive attitude, thats what made the difference. Believe me, its like magic. do anything to get your mind off it.

  • This book saved my life and sanity. Thank you for leading me out of the maze, helping me escape that prison, Allen. Rest in peace.

  • @LarryTheEditor A true HERO.

  • I'd get this book for my brother but it'd be harder to make him start reading than to stop him smoking

  • u can get it on dvd, it realy works.

  • i did the book on tape :p

  • my sister needs this

  • that's great!

im going to get that book for my dad! (:

  • The book was given to my mother and I by a friend from Europe. We received our copy before copies were sold in America. I started reading the book and panicked shortly into the book because I could feel it working and I was scared to quit. Now years later, I faced my fears and read the entire book. I quit smoking on the 28th of July (08) and it is the best thing I have ever done for myself. The book really does work and as soon as I faced my fear and read it it DID WORK!

  • to tell you the truth i downloaded the audio cd off the web..thank god i did, i have finally stop smoking after so long. going over a month now :-) it really work

  • That's awesome! How is it going?

  • I purchased the book over a year ago, and i still have not read it, i guess i'm scared of giving up

  • I can completely relate, I too was scared. I think I was actually terrified... I can wholeheartedly tell you there is NOTHING to be afraid of. The book sat on my self from 98-08 before I read it. When you are ready to quit the book is just what is claims to be, the easy way. :0) I promise you have NOTHING to loose, only marvelous things to gain! :0D

  • I commend anyone thats quits. I am a smoker but I personally do not wanna quit. But for those that do,congrats.

  • Allen Carr is my hero, and his legacy and spirit will live on.

I read the book twice and on my 3rd time I knew I cracked it/ Allen even says re-read it if you feel something hasn't gelled.

It's the only way I know that has ever worked for me, I was desparing even at the age of just 30 that I can't give up but I did.

Looking at these clips now I truly see the filth that smoking is. Death in a packet. I just want to help all the other smokers I know now so much.

  • This really work's. I read the book and I've been Happy non-smoker over 540 days.

    It's really to quit.

  • joyce even bought me a jogging suit,i no longer felt like the last rat on the ship,i just thought yipee im a non smoker

  • This book truly saved my life! I was a truly addicted smoker and haven't smoked for two years!

  • This book is worth its weight in GOLD. I quit a 33 year, 2 pack a day habit using it. I strongly recommend it to anyone who smokes. Allan carr should get a Nobel Peace Prize for writing it. He has saved many hundreds of thousands of lives.

  • The book worked for me - almost 1 year smoke free now. Read the reviews at Amazon. Truly amazing and totally recommended. Twentyattempts - get the DVD and you should be back off the weed for good.

  • yeah... was very easy for me..half a year - no smoking, no problem... then 7 kilos extra weight, depression, back on sig :-(

  • This is true, I am celebrating one year today!
