  • Talk about this at fccmods dot pro boards dot com - No spaces

  • The truth is that the conservative republican leadership and the large banks and corporations are waging war against the middle and lower classes. It started with Bush/Cheney and now we have Barton/Boehner. Please wake up and stop voting in the republicans. They do not care about you; they only care about wealthy Americans, the large corporations, and getting more powerful themselves. Please vote with your mind this coming November.

  • Lying is so second nature to 0bama and his cronies it's about time that someone works to expose this charlatan for what he is.

  • What amazes me is this administration finds time to fightw congressman, like McCain for wanting to b included n the process.Yes president Obama were all PAINFULLY aware that u won the election. Now ,convince urself and cut all ur bitching out.

  • ur all fools. the presidency walks and talks at gunpoint. he serves the central bank. if he sways even a little he gets JFK'd, and you kno they've readied the spin of his race as a culprit to some ficitional white fanatic.

  • How hot is that anchor? I give her ten out of ten :P Even though she does have a little bit of a high pitched voice.

  • @4268326 No lie, she looks exactly like my Algebra 2 teacher from last year

  • justified 'needling" he should have added

  • The folks in the White House just must be kicking themselves right now. They thought that coming out of Baltimore when the President went in and was mesmerizing and commanding in front of the House Republicans that he could do that again here today. That would revive health care and would change the public opinion about their health care bill and they can go on to victory. Just the opposite has happened." --David Gergen after the Summit

  • Is it just me or should the search on YouTube for key phrase 'health care summit' produce something better than this an one or two other hits regarding todays event?. Call me crazy.

  • Obama said: i hope you Republicans can find it in your heart to consider our need to pass this Bill... what a Spoof, man he's a smooth talker...people have got to be uneducated to fall for his BS. Oh, like its the other party that is the bad guy,, who doesnt have a heart,,,,The Obama and his cronies are ALWAYS demonizing others,,,,and what is this restitution vote ??? cheat, lie, steal, whatever it takes......Gawd, get this SOB out of office and all his cronies before we loose this country !!

  • In addition to the lies:

    1. This Bill prohibits ALL Doctors in the USA from practicing or offering their private services without being made a part of this system.

    2. It gives Cadillac care to illegal immigrants.

    3. It allows any person in the world to receive medical care if their inside the borders. There are 300 million people in the US. 6 Billion people in the world, so if 10%, 1 out of 10 or just 1 out 100, 1% of the world comes in, that is more than the population of the US. Who's$?

  • The Republicans don't believe in abortions but believe in 40 million americans should not have health care. Republicans don't believe in abortions, but believe that over 1 million Iraqi citizens should die in an unnecessary war. Republicans don't believe in abortions but believe that people should bear arms, Republicans don't believe in abortions but believe that big business (banks) should not have government oversight. WHAT MORE CAN JOHN BOEHNER DO FOR US?

  • @Ficknfecker The Democrats believe in freedom, just not for 35million oppressed Iraqi people. The Democrats believe in transparency except for their back room deals. The democrats don't believe in the death penalty except for Kalid Sheik Mohammad. The democrats believe in education but not in home schooling or charter schools. The democrats believe lobbists are bad, unless they're working for Barack Obama. The democrats believe deficits are bad, unless they're over a trillion. Hypocrites.

  • Boner is the insurance lobby's nigger!

  • This health reform is unconstitutional. That includes the INTERSTATE COMMERCE CLAUSE for all the dummies trying that argument.

"On every question of construction (of the Constitution) let us carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates, & instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text, or invent against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed."

Thomas Jefferson letter to William Johnson,1823

  • The health summit was a sham on Obama's part.

Way to go Republicans for holding his feet to the fire.

  • It would be nice if the libs would just drop the dog and pony show so we could really debate their true intentions. I believe they know how undesirable their plans are to the public. Thus it's a never ending "re-gifting" of unpopular policy.

  • Their true intentions are to help the uninsurable get insurance.

If you have a pre-existing condition and your insurance lapses, you may never be able to get it back.

The insurance system in this country is completely broken.

  • Hillern,

If that were true then they would only be referring to approximately 3 to 7 million & not the overwhelming 30, wait... 50, no... 70 million they quote (depending on the day).

Those are rare horror stories. When I say rare, I am referring to the story of 3 million in a country of 330million (that's less than 1 percent).

They want you to believe it's "completely " broken so they can pass an untried, untested, gigantic, colossal piece of legislation that will make it worse.

  • Hillern,

If the legislation is so scary-good why will the unions be exempt? Why is Congress exempt? My health care isn't broken so why am I not exempt? Why do they want laws that will increase my premiums? Maybe it's to eventually force me to their system. They might allow an opt out of the system, but not the tax increases. It may sound cruel but does your car insurance let u fix pre-existing damage when you sign up? Health insurance is not a right if it requires someone else to be fulfilled.

  • I don't know where you get this "3 to 7 million" number from. The only figure I have EVER heard has been between 30 and 40 million.

And unlike car insurance, most health care plans won't even allow you to sign up at all if you have a serious pre-existing condition, which means that any future ailments you might have won't be covered.

The sickest people in America are getting put out into the streets, with no recourse available to them.

  • The 3 to 7 million comes after u deduct those capable of affording insurance but choose not to buy, those who are currently inbetween jobs (temporarily un-insured), & those illegally in this country who should return to their country for the common cold/ non emergency. Furthermore, the 30 to 40 number used was 55 when this began.

Should they allow u to sign up with the agreement that ur pre-existing cond won't b covered? If yes, remember, that is not what they r trying to do w/ these bills.

  • I don't think the lack of cooperation can be blamed simply on the fact that the President is a Democrat and McCain is a Republican. That's shallow.

However, the values of Democrats run in direct opposition to those of the Republicans. That's a much different monster.

At the foundational level, Democrats seem to highly value helping the little guy, while Republicans often argue that you can't help the little guy without first helping the little guy's employer.

  • Try again. At the foundation dems believe government must raise the little people up. Reps believe remove the obstacles and allow the little people to raise themselves up.

  • No they believe remove the obstacles so the little guy's employers can screw the little guy and advance themselves.

  • The Democrats value the little guy? In city after city and state after state where liberal Democrats have dominated the little guy and the minorities have done less well than in conservative states such as Texas. Our founders sought a limited governmnet and free market principles. The question should be is what is the best way to encourage the greatest competition to lower cost while preventing fraud and breech of contract with the insured..

  • John Boehner couldn't find his way out of a paper bag...he is MR. POLITICS..no substance, nothing but talking points...absolutely worthless for his constituents and America as a whole !

  • Of course CBS only shows Obama's rebuttal and not McCain showing Obama for what he is, a liar.

  • The President is a Democrat, therefore Rethuglicans will say 'no' to whatever he does - Rethuglicans are a bunch of hypocritical bastards!

  • It is not just republicans that are saying no. It is all Americans. The results of the elections in VA, Mass and NJ had nothing to do with the candidates. The voters sent a message that they were very dissatisfied with the current administration in DC and specifically their position on healthcare. Isn't it obvious that this issue requires more time and thought and that a really good overall solution has not been presented? What is the rush? The motivation is political, not practical.

  • Republican have been saying no because we can not afford the spending Obama wants. The same kind of over spending you Dems were cricifying Bush and the Reps for. Only Obamas spending drawfs anything the reps or Bush ever did. Seems clear who the hypocrites are these days.

  • Really? Are Dems the ones who loaded the stimulus bill with pork for their respective states, voted against it, and then bragged about it? Also, have you heard the President's speeches? As the health care bill stands, it will actually REDUCE the deficit - a deficit, which Bush created...

  • "As the healthcare bill stands it will actually REDUCE the deficit"-robertghouston

^^ When you make comments like the above, people tend to quit taking you serious. That couldnt be further from the truth. Number 2, Obama in 1 year has put us further in debt than Bush did in 8.

  • "Obama in 1 year has put us further in debt than Bush did in 8."

Keep believing that if it makes you happy.

  • The truth seldom makes me happy. Apparently you have problem with numbers when your messiah is racking them up. Shouldn't he have been able to do this with just a single dollar bill? I mean Jesus did with just a few fishes.

  • As an Atheist, I don't have a messiah mortal or otherwise. I don't believe that the President walks on water - frankly, he has thus-far been a disappointment. I had high hopes for him, but sadly those hopes have faded significantly... but thankfully, they haven't all disappeared.

  • The Demon-crats are the ones who are realizing that passing something the public doesn't want is political suicide. They haven't needed the Rep votes for over a year. Rep's are smart not to vote for this horrendous bill. The aging-hippie-liberal-douchebags on the wrong side of politics are solely to blame. Face facts... Demon-cats are currently deciding who, from their own party, to throw under the political bus.

Just wait till the Reps have a simple majority... just wait... see what happens.

  • Democrats are Going to Push their Health Care Bill through which is their Right being in Complete Control & Republicans are Going to Fight Against it. This "Health Care Summit" will be Nothing More then Good TV.
