  • Please, come back :(

  • none better ever

  • one of my absolute favs in this duo of songs, "hurting each other" being sung live. how lovely. i really liked all of the pictures done as the video to these songs. thanks for the post. well done!

  • Amazing!!!

  • I honestly dont think there is a voice as pure and perfect as Karen Anne Carpenter

  • ohhhh.....my old

  • VERY GOOD VIDEO, AND AWESOME SONG. THANX FOR UPLOADING IT.

  • I don't know which song i want to listen first, they are all so beautiful. Love The Carpenters!

  • Yes, she was the best. One of the truly great singers with a style all her own. A natural voice, very feminine, warm, tender and womanly. Yet having been criticized for being overweight, she tried to control it. She tried and she tried. Who knew what it could lead to? It is not right to say she took her own life. She did not want to die. I don't think she (or anyone) understood what a serious condition anorexia was.

Now we know. From her tragic death, many have been saved. God bless her.

  • @GildaLee27 That comment that was said two years ago is way off yes you are right she wanted to live. Their is nobody better than the Carpenters.

  • Wasn´t She the BEST!!!

Thanke God She´s still singing to the world FOREVER!!!

    Both of them!!!!

    What a Team!!!!

  • yes she did Johncfl

I loved her, my first crush

  • thank i live verymuch it happy

  • Her voice is haunting and she sounds tender. To know that she died in those circumstances is evident in her voice. sad. I love her all.

  • I can agree with daytodaybiznizz; The other "true talents" are Celine Dion, Whitney, Cher, Steisand, but Karen Carpenter (and Richard) were an unmatched Duo! Truly beautiful music and talent and feeling. I miss the 1970 decade (in my teens) and Carpenters were so much a part of the fun years. Thanks for posting neroli8676.

  • i wonder if momoe yamaguchi watched her concert

  • Yes, Poeticbee, I understand your comments.

It's just that so many rumors swirl around celbs, I thought you'd heard that she, 'took her life' in some manner.

Yeah, she was such a fragile personality--nobody really understood her pain.

She had such a beautiful voice, and to me perhaps the greatest ever. I could listen to her sing endlessly.

I'm an audiophile, and sometimes the audiophile community can have an air of snobbery--not liking pop singers, NOT SO WITH KAREN, SHE'S REVERED...

  • Karen didn't 'end her own life'...as in suicide. She died of complications from anarexia...her heart gave out--

    Larry

  • @LarryStaples Larry, when she willingly kept on not eating for so long because she was so obsessed with being thin and afraid to become fat, she knew it would eventually take her own life. Many advised her against it, but she persisted. Ergo, it could also be a form of suicide, only an indirect one, if you ask me.

  • THE BEST female voice ever . so clear and so full of meaning. she died way to soon. REST IN PEACE KAREN.

  • Pasa el tiempo pero esta canciòn nunca morirà,asi como el recuerdo de Karen,me pone muy triste escuchar sus canciones...

  • I attended their concert in Yokohama while I was stationed at Naval Forces, Japan HQ. It was a magical, fantastic experience and both Karen and Richard were deeply appreciated by both Japanese and US members of the audience.

  • A walk down memory lane. Joh 14:6

  • Que vozzz!!! por favor...esta mujer me hacer estremecer y además una canción en realidad divina!

  • Talk about breaking your heart. She broke everyone's heart when she ended her own life.

  • @johncfl Anorexia is so much more complicate than this------ . Have you read her biography- her mum drove her mad, you know. Happens all the time. I KNOW.

  • Non Plus Ultra

  • Sad for the people like Karen has to die!!! Glad for theyr voices are always among us... I love theys songs....

  • my favourite song...!!~

  • We love you karen!

  • The best goes first

  • Truly one of the best there was.

  • @MJGod AMEN, no doubt!! Her voice was truly a gift from god!! So soft..........

  • Does anyone have a picture that at 1:57?

I thank all the new fans for keeping Carpenters music playing and alive on the Youtube!

Karen would have loved to read all of your nice comments!

We should get together on a Carpenters Contact Day someday?????

Maybe One day we could do this, if only we knew who would like to come.......

  • id come.

  • karan your voice made me feel so sad it bring back memories while your still with us..

  • I miss her so much :'(

  • El capitulo de mi vida con mi Primer Amor estan plasmados con las canciones de los Carpenters.........par ti Guido donde quiera que estes

  • was it too beautiful,

was it too beautiful to last?

  • shes not tubby shes beautiful.

  • Richard and Karen Carpenter,.the greatest brother and sister duo of all time!!..

so sad that Karen was gone, I think I'd be forever wishing that she was still here..

    miss her terribly!!

  • From the pictures here I can see that Karen was once a rather tubby child. I bet that is what got her into the anorexia stage, the horror at the very thought of being fat again.

  • it makes me weep this angel singing disappeared by anorexia

  • wait. the guy who play piano and the singer. are they married? borthers and sisters? i never knew about their relationship.. can someone tell me?

  • actually the guy who is playing the piano is her only brother.

  • They were brother and sister and she had the most beautiful voice. She died of anorexia. A terrible waste of a very talented person.

  • karen was as beautiful as her voice.

  • I'm only 20 but I appreciate that song. It reminds the 50's music.

  • good point. they were the 70s, but their sound goes back to the big bands of the 40s, and the pop sounds of the 50s.

    talent is timeless.

  • Wow -- they look like they're married!!

  • Wow.

  • Greatly moved

  • They look like twins in many of these pics when they sang they were twins of the soul 5*****

  • aww this is so great did yuo record the concert version of the song??? that's a good idea, i did that with my jodie foster tribute, a song she sang. but omg i love this vidoe!!! she had the best female vioce in history!!!!

  • This is great. THANKS!!
