  • so true fiddler! so many of those vhs(s) floatin around out there! GORGEOUS CLIP.

  • John Morris captured the Cape Breton sound better than any other fiddler with his hollowbody old Mabou coal mines style of playing....Simply the best sound ever.....

  • Thanks for remembering John Morris. There was nobody who out-fiddle the Mabou Coal Mines people.

  • another great tune!!!!!

  • wats the name of his first reel he played

  • It's the Cape Breton version of the Irish reel "Toss the Feathers". It is likely that Johnny M is responsible for this setting of the tune. He frequently played these first three reels in this sequence ... the following two being "Mary McMahon" and "The Old Copperplate".

  • John Morris was and still is one of the greatest. What a fine player and inspiration

  • He is one the best I've heard so far. What a big talent he has!

  • howard sleep didthe best videos inthe 80'sand early 90's in cape breton-and i knowthis for a fact as my parentsgotdozensofthem and everyone isgreat--you know whatelse- my parrot only whitlsesto the best fiddle tunes- and thisone got her crazy-thanks john morris

  • God bless John Morris! What talent!

  • unreal tunes

  • Hey! Is Sp1kers' version a copy of this? To me, it doesn't matter. It's even better. This is the best video yet of John Morris' fiddle playing, outside of those we see of him with the Rankin Family; the A/V quality is first rate for a video of this vintage. Thank you so much for this. It's wonderful!
