oh god drop the WWII thing ey? It was like 70 year ago. And when you at it, drop capitalism and communism and start working with real methods rooted in acctuall resources and bearing capacity of the ecosystem... like science and a resource based society?
no because they are fixed notions. What if free market is the scientifical most effecient way to govern society, will communism be pro-free market then? I don't think so.
I mean to use science, an emerical method of problem solving rather than rational, cultural notions. There is no such thing acctually as "scientific clause". Science is empirical, clause is rational.
ideologies are based on opinions and i'm not much in favour of that. I also understand that one's values and understandings can not be categorized in to one pocket like capitalism or communism or something else. I see reasonable points with both sides and all in between. But if i have to put myself on the ideology-scale i would say that i'm techno-optimstic echo-anarchist.
19, male, middle-class, Sweden, Sweden, no work, education: Elementary, high-school (science) and currently studying on collage level in biotechnology. And by the way, i don't share/have opinions, i have understandings. I dont deal with opinions if I don't have to. Furthermore, if you interview people from the zeitgeist movement, who's understandings i mostly share, you can make a pretty good survey.
Marxism-Leninism perhaps, and other statist branches of socialism, but not default socialism or communism. I can agree that communism looks utopian, especially considering what a materialist society we live in today, but Marx knew this, which is why he wrote about transitional society.
I see no point in debating whether or not communism is anti-human, rather I wonder what you think should replace the current system, as it also is anti-human. More so than soviet state "socialism". Hm?
I did not read Marx however I live in post socialist state and I know the past. history clearly shows that the mankind is not able to live according to vision of Karl Marx or his ..successors should I say. that is why its called utopia. Todays predominate socio-political system is far from perfect and that is euphemism, but soviet socialism is completely different league of few in power. dictatorial, inhuman, slave society with no respect for the individual.
I take it you are from Czechoslovakia and lived during the Czech Soc. Rep. era. As I think you've understood, as we're discussing the failure of socialism to live up to the model of Marx, I do not think socialism has been reached in the USSR or the Czech Soc. Rep.
I don't think, however, that history has proven the failure of socialism, but rather the failure of the Marxist-Leninism and state socialism, as they are structured in such a way that they easily lead to tyranny.
For socialism and subsequently communism to work and last, they must be conducted in a democratic fashion, unlike that of the USSR and China. Most, if not all of the countries in the eastern block were subsidiaries of Moscow. The word of Moscow was law, hence major policy failures in all countries.
I am too cynical to believe any change will come through the use of a pen, unfortunately.
As for us being on the right path, if anything I'd say we're on the opposite. Class inequalities, evil and exploitation are but rising, and slowly but securely what was once capitalism is (naturally) turning into the merger of the corporate and the government. There is a word for that. Namely fascism.
To finalize, I respect your opinion, and it is also interesting to get an insight into the mind of a survivor of Marxist-Leninist dogma and terror, but I will remain a communist and hope that one day you will stand with me under the true red flag of justice, freedom, equality and friendship amongst peoples.
I belive that the only revolution is a revolution of thought. The only changes made in history, and in nations, will be made through the change of thoughts. You cannot change your world from without, for you form it from within. I dont pretend to belive you will understand this. give it few years, one or two generations. you ll see. by the way, the video is really distasteful, the music, flag and that lady talking. no hate from me, just strong disagreement.

Communism and socialism are both scientifical and resource-based.

It clearly isn't.

Exactly, therefore, communism is not scientific. It's a fixed notion.

I am not sure what you mean by scientific other than built on a scientific clause. Feel free to clarify.

would you mind answering a few questions? i like to survey and see if there are any certain charasteristics between persons that share opinions.
age? sex? socio-economic class? country of origin? current home country? field of work (if any)? education (if any)?
