The no mercy 3 door glitch is there because they wanted the tank to be able to bust through it, so they gave it just enough hp for a single tank punch.
'sploits are cool for campaign, but they just take the fun out of versus IMHO. cool vid tho
I don't have the Xbox 360 version, so I can't really answer for you. But I don't think you can, I mean it is esentially the same game so it could be possible, but the thirdperson is activated through the dev console and that that is innaccesible in the 360.

on the no mercy 1 exploit shown here, if done on versus with all survivors, would it count as leaving the saferoom allowing the infected players to spawn?

No, just hit it with melee A LOT of times. That weapon switch you see is another exploit, each time I switch the weapon, I can melee instantly, so this way I can break the door a lot faster.
Don't want to argue, but a glitch is "a programming error which results in behavior not intended by the programmers". I don't think the programmers intended to skip crescendo events, they just did the mapping wrong. Whether it takes skilled play to be able to exploit them (by exploit it means taking advatange of it) or not, it is irrelevant to the point that the Developers truthly did not intended them.
i would really only call the one where you break the door a "glitch". the others i would consider tricks. The developers may not have intended it to be there but it doesnt glitch the map or mess up anything. its just jumping. good vid tho. the ones on no mercy help me a lot.

Why is this relevant? Cause I looked for L4D videos and found tons of "glitch" videos and my first thought was the game was buggy. Turns out you just can improvise a lot finding your way around, and that's good.
Also, "crescendo events" are randomly generated based on pace, so you can't really skip them since they weren't there before.

also on a side note, You pull off ether of those roof jumps for the start of no mercy on vs. to skip the apartment, you just start hanging on the side.

on no mery chapter 2. you can skip the horde if you hit the alert box over a hundred times then jump on it. which should send your over the railing.

you just climb and jump through as one would expect, it works.
Yeah it's an unusual path but it's there, so it's not a glitch, just skilled play.
The only glitch is the room with no interior textures.
