It's cool that these guys got big for playing this kind of music. It must have been hard in those days not being a grunge band, especially in Seattle.
@sheckieshpilka Neither. Both are guitars tuned in the same way - Drop D half a step down but they use different gauges of strings and Chris plays his as a Bass/Rhythm instrument even though its in the same octave as the guitar.
@dands69 - Lol- hahaha- My last man friend was quite happy when introduced him to one 'hidden pleasure'- this AMAZING band!! Brings me back to younger days- fer sure (I'm a Minnesota gal '79)- when I was a 'kid' these guys the greatest!! Lol my first CD I bought too! ooooiii thx now I feel a bit OLD. So thx. Hahahaha
@tribefish Well Yay for u lil sweetie tribefish!! Happy i'm not the ONLY one out there- - YAY TO YOUUUU!!! Bless!! Screw the folks that dont get it!! Lol truly yay!!!!
i was tripped out at bonnaroo from sonic youth brainraping me and i didnt even know these guys were playing and i heard them jamming out naked and famous. ROcK!
This is my favorite Presidents track. Too bad there wasn't an official music video for it. Of course, I can feel the same way for "We're Not Gonna Make It" and "Jennifer's Jacket."
at the end when they sing "everybodys supernova!' they mean that everyone will eventually die. All stars eventually die and before that happens they supernova. theres also referneces to this in the movie "donnie darko" when they say "all things die alone" just putin it out there
I hear you. Let me add, a supernova is the death of a star. But, It's a violent explosion bursting with tons of energy. So, burst forth with the energy of a supernova before you go!! Everybody "supernova"
wander why the verse was taken out ?? there was enough space on the cd but it is the best 37:54 of listneing though i think it is feather pluckin insane
i grew up with this album, my dad bought it wen i was, like, 7. very happy he did, these guys are friken awesome!! <3

Evrybody pulled their socks up
Evrybody put their foot down...
It's kind of got the same rhythm and rhyme to it...

This is an awesome video though!

Great video. Spud looked like a tool! (But, as I remember, anything you added sunglasses to in the ninties was automatically "cool".)

Chris was quick to add that.
Wonder if he was anticipating that to happen. ??
