the month of ramadan is a time of self reflection and spiritual growth not to fill our bellies with grotesque amounts of food. Moreover much of this food will be wasted and end up in garbage bins. Totally unacceptable considering half the world goes hungry and there is a famine in the muslim countries of Somalia and Ethopia

It is amazing how some Islamic countries loose the concept of fasting and how to brake the fast. I noticed that breaking the fast in those culture it is all about food than reflection. Yes, we should eat when break the fast, but iftar is not only about food. Fasting in Ramadan is also for us to have an idea how the poor people feel so we can be more generous. I am sure most of these food goes to the trash while our brothers and sisters in Africa starving.

In the middle east all the staff including us, we work hard for a common success. I understand what you say about working in the UK, but thankfully in the middle east is not the case. Also the standards are very different between both regions...in the middle east the competition is fierce, and the standards are extremely high. Thank you for your interesting comment.

No my dear it was not thrown away at all. As a matter of a fact, the buffet had to be refilled three times. Everybody loved it and ate it all.
