  • One question... How did you define where character can stand, and where he can't? Also the moving bounds, left and right?

  • @scofieldforlife The character is always falling and checking the surrounding tiles (player.position.x / tilewidth and player.position.y / tileheight ), supossing that you have a bidimensional array for the map.

  • @TotalJargon We used mappy (search on google, i cant post links :S), its really easy to implement, there are some tutorials.

  • you could have a more wide background that scrolls left and right very slowly as the character moves, also you could make the dogs drown in the water instead of falling through your status bar..

  • @slier81look at the info box... but the code is not Object oriented and is really ugly :(

  • @killgt That's the point XD. When you release things open source other folks have the ability to help you out on your project. They usually help me clean up and optimize my code :3

  • This is really cool. I must ask how you approaching implementing your boss? I have never been able to figure out how to program bosses.

  • @rodentwizard Thank you. In this game bosses are so simple, only more lifes than others NPCs...

  • This game is pretty sweet. The only thing I would suggest is on those green floating platforms, make the collision Rect (If that is what you're using) smaller than the entire platform.

  • @evermanito Yes, using SDL_gfx. But i dont think its efficient to do it in realtime with SDL. If you are gonna do it in multiple sprites, use opengl instead.

    your source code is not valid i download it and it cannot be opened. it write error and in the zip is nothing .

  • Start making simple games in C ++ and you will learn fast . (You can download the source code, and you will see it's simple and i'm so noob programmer :P)
