  • This song brings back memories of the park around the corner from me when my friends and I would make flower necklaces and flower head bands, and run on the beach. What peaceful memories. Thank you for uploading it.

  • this has summer written all over it, sssssooooo very, very, cool, i love it! ;)

  • Unforgetable!!! one of my first and beloved 45's ... how magic were the sounds of music when we were kids and fully innocent...!

  • One of the best " feel good " songs ever made, and ever written . Gotta love the tight harmony and vocal range of the band also , the musicianship lacks a little but the vocals make up for it in a big way.

  • This song describes the Perfect and most Beautiful Lady Ever!!! Love this song ;)

  • this makes me weep.

  • I'd like to hear this performed by Zooey Deschanel

  • Dumb and Dumber brought me here :)

  • Too perfect!!

  • And he said- do you love me ? and she said - No ! But thats really nice glasses !

  • I have listened to this and watched your video more times than I can count.lol Thanks!!! xo

  • Wow, this song brings back so many wonderful memories! It reminds me of my first true love. An all time classic for sure! THANK YOU for posting =)

  • I bought this 45 along with Light my Fire by the Doors with babysitting money in 1969 when i was 12. Needless to say my taste in music was at both ends of the spectrum at the time. The Cowsills on AM radio, and the Doors on FM which was fairly new at the time except for classical music. We've come a long way since then. I still enjoy all kinds of music. I've always thought music was a gift and you shouldn't narrow yourself to just one type. Life is short. Explore!!!

  • @TheMustangsally75 We were blessed!! I was 9 with this one. You are not the only one with the love of 60's, 70's and on and on. I had an older brother and 2 older sisters, so needless to say~I love all of those decades too. Wouldn't trade it for the world. The 80's were MY favorite!

  • I am still a flower girl I have my grandaughters appreciating that time we cannot bring back also if you havent listened to San Francisco by Scott Mackenzie please do he was ahead of his time also enjoj!!!

  • this comment, for some reason, will self-destruct in approximately 20 seconds ...

    but before it does !

I would like to express to y'all that the song > 'The Rain The Park And Other Things' is for me, one of the most pleasant and most beautiful of all songs !!!

    7 ... 6 ... 5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...

    SAID IT !!!

  • love this song to bits !

one of the most beautiful songs of all time for me !

can listen to it over and over continuously

    Peace x

  • This song was about you... RIP Theresa....

  • it was a groovy time to be alive...a natural high....the world seems to have gotten more serious...more tense.....with bad music creating bad vibes...best to live in a bubble and go back in time.......

  • The Cowsills are playing a free concert on labor day weekend sunday september 4, 2011 at The Cannery Casino Resort Las Vegas NV.

  • Great song. It definitely has The Beach Boys influence to it. I love the flowers in her hair and the harp ( stringed instrument). Classic 60's of a corny, but happy times.

  • @DavidSLynch Try waking up with "Poor Baby" in your head...

  • SHE had made me happy ... HAPPY !!!

  • For some reason, this song has always reminded me of Kafei and Anju form Zelda Majora's Mask. I have no idea why.

But I LOVE this song :)

  • I'm glad I'm old enuf to have fond memories associated w/ this tune & not reminded of Dumb & Dumber, (which I've never seen as I hate Jim Carrey).

  • Beautiful!

  • Dumb and dumber brought me here! My fav song on it!

  • @NameThisBaby same here

  • Oh the ass I made out of myself with this song. While daydreaming one day in the lunch room I was kind of lip syncing this song and looking at this girl I was currently infatuated with. She saw me doing it and the rest of my high school days were hell. lol She never missed a chance to rub it in. Kathy? I was nuts about you. Why couldn't you have left it alone?

  • I love this song -- it's one of the too-rare "feel good songs" and I believe it's timeless, the beautiful lyrics and orchestra -- unmatched! Thank you!

  • as the song plays Jim Carrey pulls out a guys heart and hands it to him in a doggie bag.LOL!!(dumb and dumber)

  • love it ! this song and especially your video makes me smile thanks !!

  • Lol when I hear this song I imagine me and my girl walking trough the park holding hands damm good times

  • I miss the 1960s! At least I still have (and drive) my 1969 Chevy...

  • this song brings me to my youth.....was 17,,loved this girl and she loved me!!!! life was great.....time separated us and we went our own ways,,still think of her though...my age now 60 years

  • I listen to almost every type of music, and is one of my very favorite songs ever!

Excellent vocals, arrangements, and that auto-harp.

  • This is a fantastic song...and it didn't take some 'dumb' movie for me to discover it. Thank God I don't have that association with it. This is a classic, not some track off a stupid film.

  • @jenzeppelin oh arnt you just fantastic? This is a great song.It was a great song before Dumb and Dumber. It is a great song now.But who cares if dumb and dumber is the first place some people heard it? it brings it to a new audience. If you love this song so much be grateful its getting even more attention! And Dumb and dumber is a sublime film-not stupid in anyway other than the two main characters! a razor sharp timeless comedy that is standing the test if time as we speak-it is a classic also

  • This song was current in Sept/Oct 1967, when I was a freshman in college. It was up against Sgt Peppers and Light My Fire, and yet it was a trenedous hit. I would give everything I own to go there again, but time travel is not available to us. Yet. I am waiting and hoping.

  • A truly beautiful song ,always makes me happy. An eternal tune......perfect arrangement ,vocals, it's got the lot. Just superb.

  • Reminds me of growing up in the Late 60s. The flower power, Hippies. Pop music was great. It was the preylude to the 70s. Oh to relive those times.

  • Ya gotta love it..

  • This brings back childhood memories to the point it nearly brings a tear.

Sad that nobody makes music nearly as innocent, happy, truly romantic, dreamy and harmonious as this anymore.

    MTV killed it.

  • What a sweet song from the 1960s. Wish I could wind the clock back! Good video; thanks for sharing, originator!

  • Great video, Check out Flowerchild with Major Miracles, the last of the hippie superheroes. Click my name.

  • Here you can see how much value would have been lost, if Internet wouldn't exist. I still would love to see today how Tutankhamun was brought to his grave. Didn't they have a way to film it during that time?

  • Why can't today's music be as happy and fun as this song. Instead today's music is either heavy metal with screechy "singers" and depressing lyrics or rap and hiphop with unintelligable words and "f-bombs."

  • @bender1958 I know. People should be listening to stuff like this an ELO. Ever heard of ELO? And the Monkees

  • @Jareddude123 ELO, Monkees, and of course the Beatles and Stones. I listened to all of them, and they are a billion times better than the what is passing for music today.

  • @bender1958

    Oh, and U2. And Coldplay.

    And I know it!

I mean theres a song for ****ing off! Seriously?!

Who wants to listen to that?!

  • @Jareddude123 U2 is another good band, and let's not forget REM and Oasis

  • @bender1958

    I never heard of those?

  • @Jareddude123 REM did "It's the End of the World as we Know It", and REM is well known because they have crediterd the Beatles as the major influence on them.

  • Lovely song

  • Wonderful song.....thanks so much

  • I love this old song :) Thank You :)

  • I loved the sixties!!!!!! Of course my parents were horrifed......but as the years went by my parents thought the sixties were pretty good.....lmao

  • Classyrepublican @ bjoh249

Vietnam was a horrible experience to be sure for our generation in the 60's. However, the topic in the post concerns the fantastic stereo "MUSICAL EXPERIENCE" in the music of the era. Todays liberal public education has certainly made it difficult for some to concentrate on the subject being discussed.

  • @Classyrepublican This a song. Why do you bring politics up? It's just a song. Vietnam was a total waste of over 50,000 american lives to help a corrupt govt. from being taken over by another govt. Not America's problem.

  • This song must be heard with headphones. Like so many recordings in the 60's, the microphones were spread around to pick up instruments and vocals separately allowing the listener to enjoy a fantastic stereo experience. Growing up in the 60's was a blessing-America was going to the moon, muscle cars, music, and girls were amazing. It was an amazing and happy time when everyone was growing, experimenting, and loving life.

  • @Classyrepublican what about the Vietnam War?? That doesen't sound like a happy experience.

  • this song reminds me of dumb n dumber u know which part i'm talking about

  • Mine has flowers in her bush!

  • This song describes "Perfection At It's Every Point", ........too bad american women are no where near this status. So i know my real wife is waiting for me overseas. Other than that, FANTASTIC SONG!!! I love this song, it gets me in a great mood. :)

  • HA dumb and dumber

  • COOL song !!!!

  • Ironic the title is "The Rain,The Park and Other Things".....when you remember that one of the singing Cowsills was killed during Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.

  • Ironic the title is "The Rain,The Park and Other Things".....when you remember that one of the singing Cowsills was killed during Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.

  • Ironic the title is "The Rain,The Park and Other Things".....when you remember that one of the singing Cowsills was killed during Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.

  • Every time I hear this song I think of the new Pontiac GTOs that were coming out back then... Remember when new cars were an exciting thing..lol...

  • Dumb and Dumber

  • I love this video. The song is so melo..

  • I am back in the 70's.. Thanks so much.. I just need some purple flowers. a painted van..and some sunshine.

  • this song is from the 60's, but i get your drift!

  • The video is perfect...another song that reminds me of first love, a long-ago yesterday.

  • best song i first heard it in dumb and dumber and loved it ever since :)

  • @juicev420 lol same here

  • Flower power! Peace and love! :)

  • If ya listen very carefully to the lyrics of this song, it's actually quite a sad little song, 'cos the bloke falls desperately in love with the flower girl, then, he turns his back for one minute, and she's gone, (without a trace)- how sad is that?! :(

  • Are you going to be alright? The flower girl has been missing for 43 years now. OK Group hug here we go! Ha Ha!

  • Not nearly as sad as if he'd stayed home because of the rain and not met her. When he sings "she had made me happy", we all knew what had happened, and it was just perfect that she went on to make some other guy happy in the next rainstorm.

  • @CockneyRebel1979

But he knew (he knew he knew he knew he knew) she had made him happy

  • First heard this song when our neighbor was washing his car and had a transistor radio playing in his gargage. I was very young, but I remember that moment to this day
