Urrrrrrgh, how I hate English dubs... They try and take the "heaviness" out of the movie, by filling up every second that's supposed to be silent, with incessant dialogue. ;_;

And aren't Unico and Akuma-kun supposed to be male? XD

@littlekitsune1 They're both male, but voiced by females due to existence of puberty on earth. Unico, I think, is voiced by Karen Prell, who is better known as Red on Fraggle Rock.

Beezle looks like a cross between Steve Tyler, a devil and a dog combined. He sounds like Kearny from The Simpsons and Tony from An American Tail combined with his voice, maybe it's the same voice actor of Tony who plays Beezle.

WOTW is Warriors of the Wind for short. You don't know Ghibli? the creators of Nausicaa, My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, Spirited Away, Grave of the Fireflies, Porco Russo, Howl's Moving Castle, Ponyo, Pom Poko, Castle of Cogliostro, Castle in The Sky etc. Seen any of those? Warriors of the Wind was a crude heavily cut from 117 minutes to 86 minute 1985 cut of 1984's Nausicaa from New World Pictures and had Hal Smith of Ducktales fame as a voice

You born 83? 81 here and did you also remember Little Nemo Adventures in Slumberland and Warriors of the Wind as well? WOTW was my childhood fave about 25 years ago when i was 4 but i had no idea that it was a crude edit of Nausicaa until i saw the uncut fansub tape in high school at 15 but still learned to love and accept WOTW. Nemo i enjoyed since i was 11 when it came out in US theaters cause i loved the video game. Does this remind you of Ghibli?

They used to show these on cable tv in the mid eighties. They also showed the original Japanese-done version of THe Little Mermaid. I think I remember her being topless. It is difficult, but you can find copies of Unico's movies on Ebay, I was able to get them both.

I'm surprised the Unico movies were ever on the Disney channel. I can't remember if I watching tv or not when I first saw Unico but I can't believe that it might've been the Disney channel that was playing it. I mean, I love Disney too but it's like when I read that Disney supposedly had something to do with the English release or whatever of Kiki's Delivery Service. And Unico is an older/a much older movie! It's weird.

Yeah, when I was really really little DC actually traumatized me! Herby the Love Bug just ended and the next movie started out with tribal women dancing around a fire naked.. it was only 15 (probable shorter) seconds but I was really little and scared of late night Disney after that!

I vaguely remember Unico from when I when real little. When we first got the internet I looked him up to make sure I didn't make him up in my head or dreamt him up. I remember him turning into a full-blown unicorn to fight a man with a green face. That green face scared me so much I hid outside away from the TV

Legitimately, you can't. The movies have only been released on VHS. There are some places that have burned bootleg copies onto DVD, though. Don't post any such links on these comments, please.

@swaswj I still had my vhs from childhood and burned it to a dvd a few years back and made copies for my sisters and i because after about a hundred viewings since the early 90's that lil plasticated tape stuff doesn't really hold up so well. But aren't boot leg copies just as bad as posting it on you tube? I obviously don't think that is wrong since I am sitting here on a Wednesday night reliving my childhood via youtube because I am too lazy to find my bootleg dvd :)
