I think that personally, as a drummer, in cases where there is overdubbing on a track and you have to choose which part to play for your interpretation of the song, I always try to pick the part that excites and challenges me the most. That is why I sympathize with the people asking where the toms are in the intro. When I play this song I try to play the tom part. It's just more fun than 1/4 notes on the hats.

@iceheadstudios I've found that playing open-handed (as in left hand on the Hi-Hat with the right hand on the Snare) works well when playing the intro. It take a little getting used to but it really works :) hope this helps man!

The chorus does in fact have the toms, and if you wanna make it sound really nice you can add those in.

The other thing is the chorus. You went to flams on the snare and then hit the floor tom and the first tom at the same time. But it isn't that. Check out the tabs if you want.

don't worry dude, the only real thing to this song is being able to play all those bass drum hits in a row. i don't have any chops at all, and i've been able to fake it on the drums so far, so just keep practicing. honestly i don't think you should be practicing this song early on. do some bass drum exercises. buy the 4 million year old drum book "stick control" and then split up the patterns between your hands and feet. If you do the exercises, then you'll be able to play anything.
