I am a drummer but I have always thought it would be great to pick up the guitar someday and get more varitaion in my musical arsenal, and I have always been a fan of Drop D tuning, it makes such a heavy yet melodic sound at the same time :) and I think it is best shown in my favorite band of all time: RAMMSTEIN!

sounds cool. but i tune my guitar in drop c. i have same guitar too, but one level higher. mine is the kvx10 x king v, while yours is the js30? mine has tremolo and shark fin inlays. i also upgraded mine to emg 81 and 85. nice playing

o ya you should always drop the string way lower and then tighten the string so that it wont go out of tune.

if you go strait down, it will go out of tune in no time.

haha, did you like barely discover how to tune your gutiar Drop D? try tuning it it to Drop C and you will be really fucking surprised on how it can get. also, it sounds really better if you use a distortion pedal instead of your gain on your amp. i have a Boss-DS 1 distortion pedal which was around 40 bucks, you should get one they're really good. sounds best when you set the volume in the middle, the tone a little passed the middle, and distortion about four fifths of the way turned.
