All you have to do for the second part of Deadwood and wait for him to crawl along, jump, turn and shoot your acorn gun at him. Rinse and repeat with some modifications and he dies easily!!! :) It's like Megaman bosses, easy to some, tough as nails to others!

Best tactic for the outside: weaken all the acorns to 1 hit ( so hit them twice) then dispatch them starting from the top!

the easiest way to beat phase one of deadwood is get the acorn at the top first but as you go up shoot the other three acorns once and the one near the top one twice. it will make it ten times easier ^^

I absolutely HATED this boss SOOOOOOO much! It took me like 50 tries to beat him! That is until I figured out you could AIM the blasted acorn launcher. It was mostly the amushes of bats that got me.
