I think Tom could make a run at a Top Chef Master title. He might not win, but his technically-sound minimalist style is perfect for a single-elimination cooking tournament (which is what Top Chef is.) This is a guy who spent his entire adult life cooking in high-volume NYC restaurants. He knows how to push in a kitchen.
Best meal I EVER had. Foie Gras, Sweetbreads, Escargot, Hen of the Woods Mushrooms, Pork Risotto... Holy GOD the Risotto!!! Bravo Tom! (Think like a Chef is great, too.)
I would love to see him as chef on Top Chef Masters . It would be funny to see the judges knot his cooking like he does on top chef. I bet he doesn't make past the first round !!!!!

glad to see he is going for purity of taste, that's a really novel idea, nobody else ever does that, when I cooked at Maximes we were always covering everything with ketchup

Did he say "we're in America, and the ingredients are American ingredients"? What the hell does that mean? He certainly is PERFECT as a judge on a cooking show that is selecting the wrong people as "top chefs."
ok, you go out and try to source half of the food that they serve there. then try to cook it in your shitty home kitchen. serve it on your paper plates with a jug wine and then actually go and eat there and you will see the difference.
I guess its the most refinement of technique. Also its a huge on the farm to table or slow food movement. Some of us don't live near farmers markets, farms, or vineyards.
Very well done Chef Tom I enjoy your commentary and educated few on Food and the simplicity. I hope to see meet and greet with you one day on Top Chef.
Ummm that isn't a typing mistake; it's a nonsensical sentence. You enjoying his "educated few" makes no sense at all. Words are words for a reason, you should use them correctly if you want people to understand you. BTW, you do realize Tom Colicchio is not the video poster, right? Your response was akin to a personal letter to him and it is doubtful he'll ever be scanning YouTube for such messages from "the masses." You should write him personally at Craft if you want to communicate with him.
ok Franck thanks for correcting me on the my writting skills and mistakes...My point was that I was trying to thank him for educating a few people on the " Simplicity Of Food " Cooking and Presentation.

By that he means he's not importing his food from all over the world. He's cooking what is pretty much american food.

Firstly i do not resort to the cutlery of scum such as yourself so don't try and add me into the same category as you.
Secondly im sort of wealthy so by no means is my kitchen shit.
Thirdly i get farm fresh ingredients because i live NEXT to a farm.
Fourthly the vineyard is a few miles away so why the hell would i have jug wine...
So don't try and assume that i didn't have the guts to back up what i said you dumb ragamuffin!
Scum such as yourself should be quiet!
