  • This is the composer of Give a Good Heart....Great song.

  • Peter1999, is there any chance you can post Martin's song called " In My Room ? " Nice song !

  • @tmr626 i dont have that song.

  • I heard it years ago and never again.. I always loved it never knew what on earth it was called..it's just beyond awesome..

  • Great song by the guy who also wrote "We Built This City"

  • geat song!

  • wow what a blast from the past! 1995 was such a lifetime ago... When I first heard the song I thought the police reunited but it was a great piece of work from an 80's band singer! love it!

  • This is the song I listen to when I need to remind myself that hope does exist.

Life will go on, and I have a purpose to fullfil. Thank you Martin.

  • Martin, hope you are doing well from your cat scratches that night you came in to the ER! Heard your song in a store today and at least FIVE different people were saying out loud how much they love this song! Thought you should know that this song STILL rocks (and forever will)! From, your ER doc and ER fan club over here!

  • @dkmedicine He might have a better chance of getting your message if you post it to toasterrodeo, the account of his assistant, Vanessa Leavitt. You could also try his martinpagemusic account, but that one hasn't really been active in some time.

I'm also sorry to hear that one of his cats scratched him badly enough to land him in the ER, but I'm glad he's okay. He has said in the past that they are pretty savage critics, though.

  • herd this tune last night on the job. and me and 3 others started singing along to it without realising it. till it was over. they just dont make tunes like this anymore. still holds up even today.

  • Absolutely love this song and the album that it's from! Great lyrics and music. He's a great songwriter. It's a shame that it took him YEARS to release a new album, but I'm glad that he finally has!

  • I remember this song from my childhood in the early nineties. Damn good.

  • Great song agree with stillodey sounds like Peter Gabriel

  • searched out this song for an early morning listen. what an inspiration ..... even better than the first time i head it, decades ago !!!!!!

  • classic,,,,reminds me of a one-night-stand in ft.walton beach--sure shes all but forgotten about me..not me...i had a one-nighter with an angel .....love this---------a memory i will never forget.....

  • the video and song r awesome but you spelled light wrong

  • I love this song! Beautiful

  • this great song got lost somewhere along the line----now we have the horror that is rap----its godawful sludge.........please god like disco.... let it go out of style..........bring back real music............please??

  • reminds me of peter gabriel.

  • great song.......stirs the soul.....!!

  • SUCH a favorite of mine. thanks for posting.

  • Great song, great video., sounds like Sting:)

  • ............(orbital be bop)

  • If I close my eyes and just let my imagination go whenever I listen to this, it's as good as meditating. ^n_n^ One of my favorites and always will be.

  • this song ABSOLUTELY soothes the soul in every way. i will forever be reminded of 10th grade in hight school. the memories come flooding in. MARTIN PAGE RULES!!!!!!

  • Every time I hear this song, it reminds me of camping back in the early 90s. Even though this song was not out yet, the peaceful sound reminds me of great times when I was a kid.

  • I used to think it was Sting who did this song when it first came out

  • So did I...

  • Plus Sting was really popular when this song came out which was another reason why I thought it was Sting who did this song

  • great song

  • i can't explain how this song makes me feel! it takes me to an awesome environment in my own mind, with no distractions.

  • soothes the soul

  • @littlegreengamer that was a good explanation after all....

  • A guitar playing Jedi!

  • hey the drummer for this song was actually Phil Collins

  • Gorgeous song. An old favorite :)

  • so love the 90's..

  • is it just me, or does this song sound like something Genesis would play?

  • It sounds more like Sting to me

  • @Correographed4x Martin Page has stated that he LOVED Genesis when he was a growing up, and when his family moved from base to base for his father's job, he would shut himself in his room and just listen to Peter Gabriel-era Genesis and the Beatles. The influence is there, but I think that Page has his own way of expressing himself and his own sound--it resonates on a similar, but unique, level.

  • Massive mid-90's pop. The exact kind of music that is non-existent today.

  • in the house of stone and light. I love how songs talk about being enlightened. like that's india right. guru

  • this song remain me the era when i was in junior high school...remain me about the memories with friends..thanks

  • Wow... This was one of my favorite songs when I was like, three years old.

I found a cassette tape (Crazy, right?) that my mother made for me a few days ago, and this was on it. I had completely forgotten it.

  • Awesome song, one of my favorites . . .

  • I remember hearing that the House of Stone and Light refers to the Grand Canyon. And the line about the Havasupai Shaman would make sense if that is the case. My house of stone and light is a Buddhist Temple.

  • Guess who was the drummer for this song? Give ya'll a hint: his last name is Collins.

  • Sorry, the drummer's name for this and all the songs on this album was Jimmy Copley. He was also the drummer on Martin's, "In The Temple of The Muse", album released this year.

  • i was gonna say a church..

  • House of stone and LIGHT = a temple

  • wow great song :)

  • This song was a masterpiece!!!!!

  • england i will always love you even in a house of stone and light.

  • Lyrics by Bernie Taupin (Elton John's writer).

  • @snuffy02 Nope. Bernie Taupin wrote "Light in Your Heart" and "Monkey in My Dreams"--all of the other lyrics on the album were written by Martin Page himself; in fact, in several interviews, he has stated that the lyrics were inspired by a visit to the Grand Canyon when he was going through a low point in his life. The natural beauty, the people he met, and the friends and family who supported him during that time gave him the strength and inspiration to write this.

  • Far away in the distance he kind of looks like Billy Ray Cyrus in his mullet days.

  • great song, I miss the 90's!!!

  • I know Me too along with the 80's

  • takes me back to high school. lol awesome

  • I thought it was sting too!!

This song seriously uplifts me whenever I'm in a bind...

  • When I first heard this, I thought it coulda been either Sting or Peter Gabriel... whoa, was I wrong!!!!

I love this guy's voice! This song, it's so beautiful, so mesmerizing! "Ow!" *Huh baa bada ba da baah ba ba ba baah da-da-da-da-da dah!...*

  • Marvellous

  • god it so does sound like sting i was posistive it was him ....great song brings back memories

  • I really thought it was Sting who did this song as well, Sting was a major success when this song came out

  • Finally, now I know who sang this song...I always thought Sting did it :P
