A man wakes up to the sound of rain From a dream about his lovers Who pass through his room They brush , lightly by, these lovers They pass; never touching These passing-lovers move through his room. ah ah ah ah (rpt) ah-ah, ah-ah, ah-ah, ah-ah (rpt) The man is awake now He can't get to sleep again So he repeats these words Over and over again. Bravery, kindness Clarity, honesty Compassion, generousity Bravery, honesty, dignity Clarity, kindness, compassion
I'm sorry, but the vocalist is Najma Akhtar and the choir is Crouch End Festival Chorus. At least that is what it says on my CD. I had to look up this Najma Akhtar (google her) and she specializes in these ethereal songs. If I'm wrong, please let me know.
I can't seem to post links here, but just google "wiki glass liquid days" to start your quest for correct information. Linda Ronstadt, the Roches, Kronos quartet.
@ianmcandrewmusic - So what are you watching this video for. To criticise obviously. It is all a matter of taste. If you don't like someone's music don't listen to it. I cannot stand the dreadful singer Russell Watson who is supposed to be the peoples tenor. I would not dream of playing any of his videos...
@silverstartrucker You're probably right, I just shouldn't listen, but people keep sharing these links with me and I really want to give the guy a chance, but I'm always disappointed. I simply don't get the fascination. As for Russell Watson, never heard of him...
@ianmcandrewmusic - Fair enough, no offence intended. Suppose I can understand Philip Glass's usual repetative music would bore some people. Russell Watson is a pop singer with a strong voice who thinks he is a opera singer. He should stick to Pop...
He doesnt wake up. He thinks so. He just passed away and rose out of his body. These are his values: bravery, honesty, dignity, clarity, kindness, compasion.
At times, he forgot them. But they resound in his mind, so clearly now. He enters a cathedral like hall, where the Angels sings with all her love for this beautiful soul, like she always does. He looks back realizes he has died. A tear develops, but attracted by the Angel he nears her and his spirit shoots up to the sky, through her.
Never tire of this beautiful song! Happy New Year, MisterFredC! :)

I'm reminded of Janelle Monae's Many Moons. No wonder why I enjoyed that song. Inspiration begets...

I think its the "Roche Sisters" singing background. Linda's voice is perfect. Laurie's lyrics are impeccable.

Love Philip Glass and his minimalistic music.
silverstartrucker 2 years ago 2
@silverstartrucker I wouldn't call him minimalist. He doesn't like it. He calls himself a composer who uses repetitive structures.
Chromometron 2 years ago
@Chromometron - Same thing really :-)
silverstartrucker 2 years ago
@silverstartrucker Minimalist, repetitive, it doesn't matter what you call it... Philip Glass composes the most boring music ever written.
