Not that the Avatars world is Earth... But if it were, than the Firenation wouldn't be Asian anyway. They'd be Mexican. lol. Because the Firenation is in the planets Western Hemisphere. And because the Firenation descends from the ancient Sun Warriors, and if you look at their clothing and architecture, they are based off of the Aztecs. lol. But do you know what, I think this adaptation is a rare exception, where casting shouldn't be based on race but on the spirit the actors can capture.

They aren't they don't even own Avatar: The Last Airbender so the they are just calling it The Last Airbender. I just discovered the movie on a random site. I was soo exited. Then I saw the cast and was so sad. I almost didn't want to see the movie, which is saying ALOT because I'm a #1 fan. Aang looks like a 7 year old. Katara looks 11. Sokka and Zuto look 19. It's all wrong enough to make me cry.

They called it that to avoid confusion with James Cameron's latest film Avatar.

be happy that we've been given a token? So in the first movie, the bad guys are South Asians, the good guys are white. Then, Zuko turns away from the other evil South Asians to join the virtuous white characters. You don't see a problem with this? Or with tokenism (since he's obviously been trown in to silence protesters)? Plus excuse me, but ASIANS AREN'T ALL THE SAME. Indian =/= Chinese just because they're on the same continent. That's a really ignorant statement right there.
