  • pastorius muito louco no piano! rsss

  • Im trippin off the fact of how comfortable this cat looks on piano! He can actually play!!! Explains why his songs were so well composed.

  • jaco pwns

  • shocking! does anyone know what year this was?

  • jaco looks like jim carrey, lol

  • A lot of chord progressions. . .

  • Who Loves Ya, Jaco?

  • Who Loves Ya, Jaco?

  • Pure Genius!

  • First time u heard that tune was with Bob Mintzer....Jaco forever...:))

  • i find this awkwardly amasing and fascinating, that brute sounding organ gives it a special taste

  • Awesome, I didnt know he knew a vast amount of piano chords, really impressive.

  • does anyone else think he looks a bit like brendon fraizer?

  • he looks totally fucking mad! i love it!!!!

  • So good to see Jaco so handsome before his face and image's been deteriorated. Drug's are not bad. Excess of anything is.

  • @kamykazzzz the problem is that with most drugs, any of it is excess, like heroin or cocaine.

  • @kamykazzzz You know what's bad? That unnecessary apostrophe!

  • Genius! Hope to meet you in heaven and hell man!

    GREAT!

  • Fuck me.

    Jaco the Greatest!

    I miss you man!

  • Fuck me. Jaco the Greatest!

    I miss you man!

  • ha you can tell he is inspired by stravinsky

  • oh fuck, my hair is almost like jacos

  • I'm speechless

  • I bet that's the "grinder" patch on the DX7. How cool is this video.

  • @davieIII whats a grinder?

  • this guy was so dynamic in music its beautiful!

  • @1980triumph! You seem to know what is good or bad and I need some help cause I love the Beatles and Jaco. Please can you help me. Please, teach me and then we will save the world from them. Now you're my guru. Hare 1980triumph. Seriously, you should get to a doctor. Maybe you got ear cancer.

  • I dont remember who it was who said it (Maybe Gerald Veasley, Vic Bailey or Marcus Miller...someone of that vain anyway) but they referred to Jaco saying, "My brother said "Yeah you can play his licks but could you come up with them in the first place?"

For me, its a no brainer. Jaco is a legend in that respect. Yes there are technically better players but the guys natural ability was something else. in the 80's he had a MIDI set up sussed out and playing within 20mins of ever seeing it!!!

  • @capriboy2o

That is another problem, Jaco received all this praise after he died and all the stupid ass bass players feel like they have to praise him,.....prime example, if you are a pop star and if you were to say you hate the Beatles then you are blacklisted, even though the Beatles wrote good music but their songs sucked ass. Jaco sucks and people are conditioned to believe he was a great

  • @1980Triumph

Apparently you still haven't listened to the Jaco-tunes I recommended. But I guess you'll still ignore it, since you seem to cherish commenting "Jaco sucks" under dozens of his videos. And for the last time, Jaco was held in high regard at the very instant he became internationally famous( around the time of his debut-album). Your behaviour is starting to annoy me, because writing these comments seems to be your primary habit on youtube. You have made your point clear long ago.

  • HOMBREX.. do ya know what year this is from?? Phew.. pretty out there...

still.. he did a good job on piano.. shame he had to play the synth, which sounded

like the Mod wheel was out of whack... or SUMthing. Still, pretty interesting..

  • YYESS!!!!! HOLY CRAP YESS!! OMG!! BEST THING EVER!!!!!! YE YES ES YES YES YES YES! =D +D =D

    kdkekadas

  • he has so much soul on the piano.

the organ is just a toy.

  • Nice hair !!

  • The Greatest that ever was or ever will be... in this or any other Universe!

  • Master of masters

  • wow, he is on crack for sure :P but still: I;m lovin it :D

  • I love him!!!!!

  • Journey-Man (~_~) Nuff Love and Peace <3

  • @langersoriginal damn u have the best comebacks of all time haha

  • thank you posting this vid!

I can't find the "late night talk with you" with hiram and jaco in live in nycity vol 4 on utube ? are they make it deasapered ?

  • sound way killer

  • The vid is lagging and the DX7 sounds dated but it's still Jaco live so thanks for the clip!!

  • STFU N00B

  • @ledzeppelin64 Hmmm, interesting lexicon!! You sound like my 12 yr old son!! I actually have a clip of the same gig but you probably wouldn't appreciate it!

  • thanks fucko!

  • @ph1lanthrope I sure would! :)

  • he is still th greatest bass or piano or anythng he is the FUCKING KINGGGGGGGGGGG

  • LOL I love this concert. I honestly can't help but feel like Jaco wasn't f*ckin with the people a little here.

Especially with that get up! It reminds me of when Cartman combs his hair and puts on the cardigan. You KNOW he's up to no good. XD

Ripping bits in here none the less... Ahhh Jaco- we love ya!

  • GOD. Everytime I watch this video, it makes me really sad... WHY!!!!!!

  • @1980Triumph HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!! Im not even going to put in the effort to insult you. You've already made yourself sound like a jackass!

  • You can't possibly have listened to any of Jaco's bass solos. Listen to his solos on "Port Of Entry", "Donna Lee", "(Used To Be A) Cha-Cha", "Havona" and "Punk Jazz" and you'll change your mind about his bass-playing!

  • @1980Triumph -i play the bass and piano...he was a baseplayer foremost.

    You seem clueless

  • @ShareTheSphere

No, I am actually more based in reality than most jazz snobs who liked to pretend Jaco was good on bass. Any of the live clips on youtube will prove that. This is by far his best performance.

  • @1980Triumph

What you call jazz I might call fusion as Weather Report more or less invented that term.

Playing fretless was a Jaco invention , at least he was the first to get noticed doing that.

If you had your ears correctly plugged in you would notice that Jaco never misses a note and it´s never false ,on the fretless.

    And was very technical

On the piano he made fantastic chord/bass compositions but lacked a lot of tecnicality.

I´ve played/ composed for 35 years.. how about you?

  • @ShareTheSphere

Dude, do I have to play music to know good music........you sound like a child. Jaco was shitty on bass, any live clip on youtube will prove that, he was inconsistant and never laid down a groove, their are millions of better bass players, Jaco is like Prince...two overrated losers who have some talent but people go ape shit over them for no reason. People who praised them are nothing more than sobbish LSD induced delusional losers.

  • @1980Triumph If you compose music and gain some knowledge you do not automatically become a snob.

And then as of any knowledge there is a better chance that you know what you are talking about .

And you my friend are clueless , and there is no point debating this with you.

My admiration for JP is solid and no punk without a clue can take that away.

For me Jaco was very true to music ,absolutely one of the greatest.

You will never understand what is great or not..

  • @ShareTheSphere LOL...crafty response but it still falls flat. knowledge has nothing to do with it.....or correctly lack of knowledge is what fuels the devotion towards Jaco and his music. So because someone doesn't like Jaco means they aren't intelligent about music huh? I love Jazz snob facist who have blind devotion to Jaco because the industry says you have to love him. What losers you all are. Name any popular bassist and they are better than Jaco.

  • @1980Triumph You no clue.

  • @ShareTheSphere

Funny because I was thinking the same thing about you and most jazz snobs

  • @1980Triumph pick another forum where you know what the f. you are talking about.

    goodbye

  • @ShareTheSphere

Hey man, I actually enjoy coming to this video cause I actually like the song and performance. Only difference is I am not beholden to the lie that Jaco is the greatest bass player in the world.

  • @1980Triumph so you think Jaco practiced piano more than bass?

Jaco is not the best bassplayer in the world. He was.He is dead

  • @ShareTheSphere

I don't know what he practiced more, I just like this song and performance...also he was not the best bass player in the world. Even outside of jazz in soul music there were better bass players...Louis Johnson, James Jamerson, Nathan East

  • @1980Triumph I normally never respond to this youtube crap, but this clearly is wrong. Question: Name a bassist that is better then Jaco? Iam very sure you have 10 names in your head right now, that makes me laugh. Iam gonna ask the question again: Name a bassist that you like better then Jaco? Do you have the same names in your head? Go back to your 'iam against the media and the state and everything that makes me feel bad about myself'. Now iam going to use LSD again listening to a Prince. Bye

  • @1980Triumph your a dumb cunt...i don't need to say more arguing with you is stupid BUT I WILL INSULT U! CUNT! cause your wrong and the majority of musicians who actually enjoy music and know music love his playing and know how amazing and revolutionary he was (even people who arnt musicians! SHOCK!). man your ignorant and i know just from your attitude you as a musician are not going to accomplish anything so good luck with your failure in music and most likely failure in life.

  • Oh,... Where can i see the full consert? who knows man'?

  • genius

  • who suck?amazing!

  • man, if he suck, then U are just a load of crap

  • @1980Triumph: congratulations on putting all the other ignorant youtube commentors to shame. now do the internet a favor and shut the fuck up.

  • then i think there are like 2 and a half million coke heads? get a life, you pathetic retarded looser.

  • read the reply i sent you. Give respect to this guy he inspired millions of people, i dont give a shit if you like it or not. I hate classical music. doesnt mean i go troll the classical lovers. i leave it for them. now, give jaco, and the people that love him and his music, some peace and respect. (And save a little of your dignity as well, seeing as that every comment you post gets a hate reply). have a nice day you selfish son of a bitch.

  • lol troll

  • jaco the mad scientist!

  • we owe it all to you

  • jaco is amazing but what's up with that armpit camera angle? hah LIBERTY CITY, YEAH!

  • 22 years without jaco today...

    RIP !

  • He played this at the end of the Modern Electric Bass video during the credits.

  • too bad Jaco passed. i wonder how his music would be now....

  • @dudesons441 for real, idk about his bi polar dis oder but in all these videos he's plays so beautifully, and he's a genius, only a genius could play like this!

  • @dudesons441 probably the same...

  • @dudesons441 One can only imagine..................it was mind blowing already.

  • Genius, he´s the best musician, not just the best bass player...

  • Jaco was amazing. The synth was annoying.

  • yeah.. it's that ole Yamaha DX sound.. didn't help that it was on some damn Pipe

Organ setting.. sounds like the Pitch wheel is engaged, too... these synths now sound terribly dated- but at the time it

was state-of-the-art!! go figger. It was much better when he was on piano.. he seems a little out there; possibly high; but

at least he was havin' fun.

  • he is the ONE!!

  • spettacolare

  • I would prefer 2:01

  • woops i mean 1:32

  • i would prefer 1:41 xD

  • i want the picture of his face on 1:15 and 1:23 on a shirt NOW!!!! lol so happy in his music.

  • The thing with Jaco was that he enjoyed playing and performing. He always had a good time.

  • Jaco is the MAN!

  • Haha deadly i didnt know jaco could play keys aswell

  • MUY BUENO!!

  • incredible

  • many thanx for sharing this masterpiece !

  • A genius is a genius....

  • 1:40 love that waloking bass line

  • this man is THE man!

  • lol dx7 suck so much xD

  • putain, ca groove merde!...vraiment !

  • Jaco bears a striking resemblance to the pianist in the flick Reefer Madness

  • This is so much fun to watch, thanks for posting.

  • haha jaco was sick :)

  • it's not funny.

  • made me laugh too...love these kind of fools...

  • Ho-oly Cow!

  • I love how he always looks like he's trying to "figure out" whatever instrument he's playing.(0:42)Sign of a genius I guess.

  • is that the real jaco?

  • You bet. Near it's final days :(

  • This is not "twins"..this is a part of the "rite of spring", of Stravinsky.

  • Does anyone has a READABLE music score of this tune (Liberty City)?

I need it badly... So please if you have it , PV me.

    Thanks !

  • Quest'uomo è stato davvero un Dio nella sua vita, ma vederlo in questo video così diverso dalla sua lucente personalità mi fa piangere il cuore...

  • his a really a complete musician i want to find some videos of him on drums
