passenger's head hits the helmet of the other guy. thats what causes him to go unconscious

Doesnt look like they are wearing any kind of helmets at all (at least I suspect the passenger did not, and he is knocked unconscious, probably badly concussed).
It helps a lot in high speed race accidents.
