  • We ARE going to run out of oil. Instead of posting nonsense like "gasoline is better", why don't you go look up when our best estimates say we're going to run out of resources. Our consumption of resources is increasing exponentially and has always been. We're reaching the "vertical" part of the curve. Even if we do move away from oil, it will shift the energy burden onto yet another non-renewable resource to generate the electricity to charge/electrolyze.

  • Don't these things explode in an accident ?

  • hydrogen cars are the future, now we have to get rid of betty soretoe before he gets rid of us, replace the import taxation to discourage slavery and allow americans to make whatever americans consume and export to the world. The idea of a super slave store may be alluring to their major stockholders, but its the death march of america " waltonses, gatses, buffetses, fed, lawyers, judges, super delegates, lobbies et al ) may feed well on the destruction of america, but, I don't see their future

  • no i am out i agreed plug in hybrid but not hydrogen bomb cylinder no no no.

  • I wouldn't be drinking the water or breathing the water vapor from the tail pipe just yet until we take it and put it in a fish tank to see how golf fishes react and give birth in that water. Further experimentation should be conducted before we send that water into our atmosphere. The same with involving Nuclear with water.

  • they keep showing concepts, they need to stop the fantasy and the dreaming, and actually make these vehicles now!! they just want you to keep buying the crap cars they make now.

  • umm when Honda was developing there new clarity they also made designed for users to get a small electronics plant at home to fill it with hydrogen... not a new idea

  • that'd be hilarious if when he breathed in the exaust he fell over dead lol

  • @johnson1095 lol...i was thinking of seeing that clip on the news...they cut out right after he grabs his throat, falling down....: )

  • Electric cars that you charge at home would be a great idea... but what happens when you need to drive more than twenty miles in a day? Should we all just give up on road trips?

  • You guys must be republican american xtremist christians or sometimes because every time there is a good idea you think it's stupid because your all a bunch of tools. stupid people

  • @McQuaidm

I'm Christian Extremist, American, Republican and I think this car is amazing! I say let's get a hydrogen infrastructure in place A.S.A.P.

  • man i could have bought alot of gas for 2 million bucks

  • I was driving to work this morning, and watching the beautiful Hydrogen Fuel Cells growing on trees. I thought, we should pick them and use them to drive!

What a dumbass idea this is! If it isn't natural, easier to access, and cheaper than oil, it isn't a solution...

  • Too bad that hydrogen fuel costs more energy to make than is released burning it.

    Otherwise this would be perfect.

  • This is not a good thing. Everyone thinks carbon dioxide is our problem as a greenhouse gas, but water vapor (steam) is the number one greenhouse gas, taking up close to 98% of our atmosphere. We would only be making things worse.

  • ur a fucking idiot arent u

  • look it up. Carbon Dioxide is 380 ppm of our atmosphere or for you to understand, .38%. The number one greenhouse gas is water vapor.

  • water vapor is self regulating by condensing in to rain and falling back to earth and since we take water and separate it into H, O to get the H bottled for fuel when its burned it recombined into H20. so how are we creating more water vapor when we have to use water to get the fuel in the first place. if anything we're creating more CO using coal, gas and oil power plants to separate the water into its elements.

  • We have a real chance to develop something to stop the oil companies from screwing us. Forcing us to refuel at any type of station just encourages that behaviour again. Electric is the best alternative. We can recharge at home and never visit a station again.

  • I agree that Co2 is a problem because since 2006 we've put 4 gigatons of Co2 in the atmosphere. And hydrogen is not always derived from water. Actually it would most likely never come from water because it takes more energy to break down water than the energy we get back by combustion. It's not cost effective so companies would never commit.

  • it'd kinda like a facial >.>;

  • lol thats what i was thinkin

  • so cool that

  • ford is probably laughing

this is a batshit crazy idea.

you will never see a hydrogen fuel station.

because just one station fueling every hydrogen fuel car ever built would loose money.

  • @datzfast its not exactly about money though. i think solar energy is better and i'm not all too convinced by the hydrogen cars, but if we continue to slowly move away from oil just baby steps then eventually the system will adapt, it just takes tiem, but oh man 2 million dollars a car, lol

  • how would a hydrogen fueling station lose money?

  • you dont buy a car unless you have a filling station but you dont buy a filling station uless their are thousans of cars

  • Because according to the laws of thermodynamics you can't get something for nothing. It takes energy to separate hydrogen out of compounds such as water.

Once it's separated with Electrolysis you can only ever get less energy back than you put in by burning it again and turning it back into water.

Bottom line is that it's less efficient than gasoline

  • imagine, when you get thirsty, you can just pull over and drink your car's exhaust!

  • HAHAHA!!!

  • It should pump the water to a tank, and add a nozzle, so that you could get tea or hot chocolate wherever you are, for those cold wintery days.

  • :D hook a hose up to the exhaust for those really long road trips

  • Lol, "It's kind of like a facial." That came out all too wrong.

  • lol yesh ifu get in a bad crash you might want to swerve from the explosion... but at 1:20 he looks like hes retarded breathing in carbon monoxide... but its just steam :) lol

  • Jerrytitus, i think that the earth is flat......

  • The idea of a plug in hydrogen car is a great one indeed

Though It would seem to make more sense to me to route the electricity from the fuel cell straight into the engine and then send any extra to a battery rather then routing it all through the battery instead.

  • Total Joke. Oil company & auto manufacture scam. We have cars than run on stricly water all employ some form of water manipulation to fully power the vehicle. Big Oil and Auto want the infrastructure to replace oil and keep you coming to them to get hydrogen. Thier biggest fear is you going to your kitchen sink and filling your car up with water. You would be cutting them out. This technology can also make old vehicles viable for useage and Big auto hates that idea, they all bunch F'in liars

  • 100 trillion dollars of oil still in the ground

no shortage yet, maby in 50 years.

  • Noise and not pollution, very cool, i prefer the hydrogen cars than electric cars !

  • @energyismass that's still in testing and cost a ton dude.

  • why do you need to go faster than 85 unless you are running from the cops lol

  • well what car guy would want a car that only goes 85mph

  • it's impossible for all the oceans to be used up in ten years. the water vapor exhaust recycles through the air and will eventually turn into rain.

  • hydrogen caR?

god that shitll blow up so bad if it crashes

  • The auto industry will continue to hurt until they begin to sell plug-in vehicles.

    NPNS!

  • "It's kind of like a facial that opens your pores up" LMAO :D

  • breaths it in: shit wrong car

  • lol

  • I was feeling miserable, but reading posts from the people worried that the oceans were going to be used up by hydrogen cars has really cheared me up. Its true, the oceans will last around 10 years, then will all be gone!!

  • a decade? wtf, we need this shit now

  • "Where's the flux capacitor?"

    and

    "Smells like the future."

lmao best lines in the whole thing

  • Hey XNeverQuit, That's a great idea! Have solar panels on your house that generate electricity that is used to generate hydrogen in your home for powering both your home and your car!! What a way to go!!!!!!!!!

  • lol the man breathing it in

  • there is no global warming

the earth warms up and cools down evry cuple hundred years

  • Jerrytitus, you're right, only a complete fucktard would believe in a thing called "Global Warming".

  • exactaly

  • Someone help me please. Because I live in New Jersey and there are NO hydrogen stations. Just how would I use this car. Would I plug it in everyday and just use it as an electric car? If so why don't they just make an electric car?

  • By the time a hydrogen powered car is available, there will be plenty of hydrogen stations. I believe they're currently only available in California, but they may be available in other places as well. There are no hydrogen stations where I live either. And to answer your question about just making an electric car; simply because they want to sell you the hydrogen. The oil companies make fantastic profits off of fuel, and they're not going to give that up.

  • Yeah, you're correct. Money talks.

  • really cool tho

i think... we should all have solar panals on our roof and fuel our homes and gas stations that make hydrogen for our hydrogen cars.

  • heh... facial

  • I do agree with CouponPower the steam will go back into the atmosphere. Which is why i don't see the problem with it. Also people who say "but it only goes to 85-90 mph" I say to them so what! there's a thing called the speed limit have you heard of it. Although the goverment and big companies will dig thier hands into this somehow, they always find a way. Like my grandma always said nothing comes free.

  • Are you?

  • Do you knw that the world can not have a world of cars running on water not talking about this car but if the worlds cars drove on water we would rapidly deplete the worlds oceans and are water supply. so if they do make a car the best is electricity or better air lol.

  • the oceans of the world would not be depleted by cars, we have been using oil for 100 years and it has'nt run out yet, if we converted to water it would take millenia to run out

  • it wouldnt take a millenia it would take probably 40 to 50 years useing that much water which is not reused properly we would eventually start to use to much water.

  • How do you work that out, we have been running cars on oil for 100 years, and there is still alot left. Water covers over 60% of the earth, unlike oil which is a scarce substance in comparison to water. Lets not forget that in many places in the ocean, the water is so deep that submarines are unable to reach any where near the ocean floor.

  • oil is all ready becoming scarce so is fussil fuel or what you knw as gas which is why the price of gas will not decline it can only rise useing vast amounts of water countinously over a long period of time will deplete oceans yes it will take a large amount of time but still they should figure out a way to make a low emissions car at an affordable price.

  • I hate to break it to you but the steam coming out of the tailpipe goes back into the natural Eco cycle and will fall again as rain, What you drink today from your tap was undoubtedly at one time someones pee.

  • umm u do know that steam goes out of the exhaust right? and whats steam made out of water , how is the steam made? the hydrogen mixed with oxygen producing the steam, what is the sun made out of, hydrogen whats causing global warming?the gas emisions coming from cars

so by my logic whats the problem with water and wouldint using hydrogen stop global warming

P.s im twelve so my logic is problably full of holes so...you know just puttin it out there..... :)

  • I understand your young but that doesnt mean that you dont know alot you had some strong statements but if you where commenting to me my comments are not about the car but more about if cars ran on water.

  • I am not sure what you are trying to say but I was referring to the fact that any car that runs on water Hydrogen will never deplete the oceans because any steam or water coming out of the car would fall again as rain and return to the oceans. As fir the pee, creatures of some sort or another have been drinking and peeing for about 350 million years or so now and the watter you drink today was at one time in the bladder of another creature. ( I don't like to think about that last part either)

  • I want this...

  • I hate to break it to you but the steam coming out of the tailpipe goes back into the natural Eco cycle and will fall again as rain, What you drink today from your tap was undoubtedly at one time someones pee.

  • Um where did you hear this from lol. um pee's or urines is acutally methyl salicytate, eucalypto, methol, or thymol. i forgot which one anyway its mixed with waste and no we dont drink pee do some research my friend. and also i wasnt saying that this car is what i was talking about me and someone else where haveing a discussion about someone makeing a car that runs off of water this runs off of hydrogen. and if you where talking about steam that comes out of cars thats co2 so yeah.

  • lol u owned coupon :D

  • Take a look also at Aptera, here on You Tube...

  • DON'T BE FOOLED, THEY CAN DO BETTER, THEY JUST DON'T WANT TO. THE TECHNOLOGY THAT THEY ARE HIDING IS FAR SUPERIOR TO WHAT THEY ARE WILLING TO SHOW US. THEY JUST DONT WANT TO RUIN THE REPAIR END OF THEIR CARTEL. Think about it no radiator, no fuel systems, no plugs, no oil pumps, timming crap, You get the picture.

  • why the hell with gas at its prices are these things not being sold and fule stations being built, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD come on!

  • To answer your question, in California Arnold Schwarzenegger signed the hydrogen highway law in 2004, requiring a hydrogen station every 20 miles along Interstate 5, from the Mexican border to the Oregon border by the year 2010..Hopefully they can get it done, although they have had a few bumps..It is called the California Hydrogen Highway...

It looks like the hydrogen economy will come, but by then we will have plug-in electric cars and cars which do over 100 mi per gallon such as Aptera.

  • What you see here is a souped up Stanley Steamer. Oh yea!

  • "smells like a bad joke"

I can't imagine the fuel use in creating the massive battery packs to propel this beast, and what do you do with all the dead batteries? I'd only buy one if I can steam clean my pants, while on the way to work.

  • so i wonder what the "gas can" would look like if you ran out of "fuel" on the side of the road.. hahaha

  • so you can actually breathe this in!!! inhales *dies* XD oh shit they told me nothing would happen

  • Sounds fantastic, but wouldn't the 'exhaust' steam cause icing of roads in the winter in northern states? This could be a problem... we already have icy roads in the winter from natural causes, do we need to add to the problem?

  • No worries there. Those vehicles won't produce enough water vapor to cause road hazards in the winter by far.

  • One might not, but in rush hour traffic, moving slowly (about 20 mph or less), below zero temps, or maybe even traffic stopped for long periods of time due to an accident? It's not practical to turn the car off, due to the cold.

Where will those living in apartments plug in? I can see it now, electrical cords being stolen, or worse, buried beneath two feet of snow overnight! Help me out here, I'm interested but these are real possibilities in the northern and northeastern states.

  • To the best of my understanding, the water vapor evaporates too quickly (almost as soon as it exits the exhaust) to cause any winter road hazards, even in the north where your nose hairs will freeze before you can get to your front door.

Unless electrical cords quintupled in price or more, I don't see much motivation there to steal them. And apartment complexes would adapt just fine. :)

  • Honestly, I can't see why anyone would steal the cords, they are just ordinary extension cords, and don't contain any valuable metals usually. I mean, you can buy a 15' cord for $25. And in the situation of rush hour, I'd assume the wind would have the ability to move the steam vapors away from the roadway, however, that'd create fog if I'm not mistaken .

  • Well, with the Calcium Chloride That the put on the roads water vapor really wouldn't be much of a problem because it makes it almost impossible to freeze anyway. I live in western Pa and we usually have prettty bad winters.

  • 85 mph and just to make it, is gonna cost a ton

  • Yay, Hydrogen. I love when the auto manufacturer/petro conglomerate dangles unrealistic distant future technologies in front of me to think that they're actually working on the solution. Thanks Ford!

  • So , you mean to say that you will fill your H tank from the H gas station . Unbelievable ! yeah ! Why are you making the old technology to become new ? That's craze ? The best inventions is , buy any car and put water from any source even salt water into your tank and run . It is an old technology man . Review your physics man !!! he he he.

  • "so where's the flux capacitor?" - GREAT! back 2 the future

    LoL

  • ha ha lol true

  • Don't listen to liveoilfree, he's such a tool.

  • There is a way to do it even cheaper and better.

To bad i don't work for ford

  • Its Kinda Like A Facial, Yea He Should Know LOL

  • hahahah i thoguht the same thing

  • I found a web site on the net called showoffyourwheels . com and any one can post there cars on this site, They even have car clubs and do 1 on 1 interviews with drag car champions. cool site, check it out....

  • This will never be cheaper than $1M. And if h2, why not CNG? It's cheap, known, works on cars, trucks and buses.

The H2 tanks are expensive, and have a life span.

Use NiMH batteries, it's much smarter, cheaper and can plug in anywhere.

    This is all c-r-a-p.

  • What a bunch of garbage!

This ugly pos weighs 5600 lbs., they would be better to use batteries, it would weigh less and go farther much cheaper.

  • lol... "you can breath this in..... it's kind of like a facial"

  • 53 service stations in the US that stock hydrogen. Cool!

  • only for the rich, how is that going to solve the problem. Big Oil wins

  • At one time computers, mobile phones and LCD TVs were only for the rich, now everyones got them.

  • This car looks amasing. I wonder how much it costs .I would definetly buy it.But can anyone tell me how much is 85 miles/h in km/h?

  • Humanity already destroyed so much.

Hydrogen is found no where on this planet but in water, if humanity will use Hydrogen as water it will cause serious drought & starvation. If you thought an oil crisis was bad, try to imagine what a Hydrogen crisis would be like. You can live without Oil, but you can't live without Water.

So everyone who wants Hydrogen as petrol replacement is a serious hazard to all life on Earth.

  • Did you know that the amount of hydrogen taken from water to power all the cars in the world (in future) is the same amount used to refine oil!!

Its proven and recorded. They use sooooooo much water to refine oil into petroleum.

  • GkillerDogg regardless of what you are saying... we are converting even comustion engines to run on hydrogen from plain water. It works. :) So instead of doubting... start analyzing. The future is now. Kind regards, Andy

  • This is even a stupider idea. If you're going to burn H2 in an IC engine, why not use CNG, at about a tenth the cost?

The H2 has to be manufactured, it's 80% from coal even in so-called solar powered H2 stations.

  • no horse power, bmw realised this was a pure waste of money thats why combustion will remain for a long time yet.

  • Well, that is one expensive car. Now, just mix the rapid charge and long life ability with Altairnano's new lithium-ion battery technology and you have a winner. They could sell vehicles like this and if they can charge in 10 minuets, then you'd only need the fuel cell to extend the range.

  • If Ford's only source of income were from electric hybrids like the Ford Edge with HySeries Drive, they'd be making millions of them. "Stop buying or leasing NEW gasoline powered cars". See my vids.
