YO! THIS IS AL FROM "THE CROOKS"!WOW,GREAT THAT FOLKS REMEMBER US!PLEASE POST THAT VID! I WOULD LOVE TO SEE IT! IM ON TOUR IN JAPAN NOW BY THE WAY.STILL SKANKIN! GOD BLESS!
Aw man, this was among one of my first ska shows; the very first one was Bad Manners in Feb. 1986 at Fender's as well. Holy crap. Now I remember it like it was yesterday. Thanks so much for sharing. Do you have any footage of No Doubt at Fender's in '87, when John Spence was with them? They played a Thanksgiving show in '87. The flyer showed a skanking turkey.
These were the days of great local shows...sold, the question, the idea...awesome
Eric, do you have the ND footage from the Inn at the Park show?...Please load it, I was working the stage the whole set and would love to see myself up there!!
@EricKeyes Was lucky enough to see them a couple times back in the day....just a sick live show , to this day one of the best live bands I've ever seen...
They were recently seen in a Pepsi commercial with Chris Dowd and Walt. It was supposedly just for the commercial but if they came back with Dowd and Walt that would be the best thing I've heard in my life.
awesome ~ they were so young, wild and crazy then ~ fuckin' love it!:D i didn't discover the magic of the 'Bone till fifteen years later. that first show in '96 had a good deal of this here, and after about 14 or 15 shows; i got through some shit and i do believe they've helped in one way or another. i didn't see them this past Halloween, but i'll catch them next month, for old times;) met and rapped a bit with John Steward in feb. that guy's all right;)
Is this the show that you, Arim, and Jarrod and I rode our sccots to? I some pics of the 4 of us outside Fenders right around this time. Hmmm 21 yeard later my memory is a bit hazy...
The No Doubt guys played this show and I remember being at sound check so I have a feeling I went up with them but I remember many rides to fenders and Aram is the VHS of this show in the crowd..... oh by the way.... who is this? PM/E-Mail me on this site.
I saw them this year as well. Once at the Lost Horizon in a club in Syracuse. And then in April of '88 Fishbone played with the Red Hot Chili Peppers for our school Block Party! TOTAL MAYHEM! It was the only time I got see RHCP with Hillel
I was at that show, the skeletones opened for them, as this was after Fishbone had toured with the Beastie Boys. They were AIRTIGHT that night, and played a bunch of songs that would later be on "Truth and Soul". I miss Fenders' it was a punk rock haven.
I don't remember the Skeletones playing that night but it was 20 years ago so ???? I remember Walt driving his motorcycle and parking it inside Fenders during sound check.
Yeah No Doubt played but not Bad Manners (as far as I remember). As much as I like the performance, I love looking through the shots of the crowd and seeing old friends.... good times.

Back to my youth Fender's Ballroom. I believe this is the gig when a suicidal broke out a knife on a guy standing next to me.

I saw them at the old UC Davis coffee house back in 1986. That was a show! My ears rang for three days afterward, but it was worth it!

Having been to hundreds of concerts, I feel pretty comfortable saying Fishbone shows still rate as the greatest live shows I've ever seen.
