Firstly, Russia, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia are not EU member states. Neither is Norway.
Secondly, the countries in the second list that are in fact EU member states are rightfully members because they met any convergence criteria presented to them and are European countries by definition. Which continent would you attribute them to otherwise? In my opinion, Turkey is part of Asia Minor. However, I think they have a claim to becoming at least a 'privileged partner' of the EU.

Firstly, Russia, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia are not EU member states. Neither is Norway.
Secondly, the countries in the second list that are in fact EU member states are rightfully members because they met any convergence criteria presented to them and are European countries by definition. Which continent would you attribute them to otherwise? In my opinion, Turkey is part of Asia Minor. However, I think they have a claim to becoming at least a 'privileged partner' of the EU.

@Aegialeus Turkey did not say "NO" to fixing problems, infact it was the Greek Cypriots that said "NO". It's not because the Greeks are bad ppl, its because obviously the Greek Cypriots were not ready, probably due to the trauma they experienced through-out 1974 (both Turkish and Greek Cypriots suffered because of the immature cat/dog fight regardless of the cause). Its part of our nature unfortunately, Europe fought each-other for years, but its time to make peace and move forward together.

The last time the Annan plan was amended was by the Turkish reps one day before the dead line and the Greek Cypriots were pressured to sign it by the British, US, & the UN "mediators". The Greek Cypriot President did the right thing lobby for Cypriots to vote against it. There was no level playing field and the Greek Cypriots would have lost more than what they had before 1974.

Not a valid point. Turkey does not want to become Part of France. The argument is for Turkey to join the European community. Cyprus is part of Europe, and they are in the Asian Minor as well. His geographical explanation for an answer just doesn't hold water. Einstein and many other Scientists were not Christian. Turkey is part of NATO. If I were a jury, I would say his arguments are weak.
