No heres how it works: You pull the pin and its armed. Then you pull the spoon, which is the lever type thing on the side and it's hot. When it's hot you have 5 seconds to get the hell out of dodge. Or throw it. So in theory you can hold it as long as you want but it's a little more comlicated then just leting go of the explosive.
