Of all the recent new wave of Thrash acts Lazarus A.D. is the only one I feel is doing somthing new and interesting within the genre.

I've heard Evile, Gamma Bomb, Liche King, Municipal Waste and Skeleton Witch and can't help but feel that they are re-treading the same ground that bands like Exodus, Testament, Suicidal Tendencies and Anthrax did over 20 years ago.

Lazarus A.D. just feel fresh and interesting.

@waylander1978 Good comment! I think most of the bands you mentioned miss the boat....Lazarus AD is the best of the new wave, in my opinion. Incredible syncopation--amazing drumming! I also like Warbringer, like the other guy mentions. To me, Exodus and Overkill are still carrying the torch (Slayer has dropped a notch), but Lazarus are awesome. I just saw Liche King a few days ago and LOVED them as well....Great to hear true thrash like the mid-late 80s!
