  • this is probably one of the easiest missions in the game if you make your ECM as high as possible. High ECM + missles= easy win, had so much trouble until i figured that out.

  • The Leviathan looks a lot like the Massive MT from Another Age.

  • @Destructerator: that was the first thing I thought when I first got to fight it.

  • This mission is a royal pain in the fact that the ECM's keep me from locking on. But that's the only real problem, and sometimes it IS a REAL problem. Good job with the Leviathan and I hope that you can finally beat Zinaida and the Super Pulverizer.

  • I've noticed you posted quite a number of comments recently, and you also talked about your setup. Now you made me curious, dude. :D Do you have some vids about your AC? I'd be pleased to take a look.

Thank you very much, and I'll tell you one thing that you may have already noticed: ECM problems disappear once the head gets damaged. If it is destroyed you lose the radar though, but I guess you keep it if you have a back mounted radar part. Can someone comfirm me that?

  • If I can get my hands on some DVD-R's or DVD-RW's then I can put up some vids of my AC's, but I'm kind of short on those right now. And on one of my saves, I actually made Zinaida's regular AC and used it as a sort of "training AC" for a while. That's what helped me get better with the rockets. Cause I sucked with 'em before.

  • I tried to make up the Zinaida's regular AC but I didn't find myself fit with that even though my AC and Zinaida's are very similar. Great work for the rockets practicing.

  • Have you ever achieved Cascade Range's paint scheme? I'm trying to figure out what it is cause I'm trying to make an exact replica of it. But I can never seem to get it right. Every time I go to fight him after adjusting the paint scheme it's never the same. I'm trying to get it to look the same as it does in the the arena when you battle it.

  • the next armored core needs a return of ravens

  • Don't both AC4 and AC4:FA have Ravens??

  • nope. ur not a raven anymore ur a lynx

  • Didn't know that. It's the first time I hear this.

  • @ArcadiaH69S They have Lynx, but they're prequels, so I guess that makes sense.

  • @skyrobotv Yeah, you're quite right. Especially since you replied to a post that's a year and more old, and by now I already got AC4 and FA and finished them too. But thanks anyways.

  • @ArcadiaH69S Meh, comment OCD, haha

  • I can see that your setup wasn't that good for this mission... XD

Usually, I'd have changed to a vulture 2, equip a Siren 3 on the back, a KRSW on the R Hand, and the Elf 3 on the left. Just kill the tanks with the blade then unload the KRSW on the leviathan. Blade him if you feel courageous too ( I love blading those things... XD ).

  • The real challenge was to kill a Leviathan with this setup, but I guess yours works very well compared to mine.

You know, I wanted to beat the entire game using just the Danger Halley, and aside from the Super Blue Pulverizer and Wonder Zinaida (that are not normal :S), I did it. :D

  • yeah, My AC is a do all missions AC like yours. I even posted his build on ACO. (It's name is Alastor)

Except that, he CAN even beat the last 2 you mentioned. So I virtually finished every possible mission with it. however, I did have a few hassles on the missions at the dam, as he uses the TP booster, so his flight duration isn't long( on top of that, KRSW as main weapon ).

This AC of mine is in one of my vids if you are interested. :D

  • With an AC like yours I would end the game with a single setup too. :D

The fact is, I rarely show a plain inferiority. I'm not an easy-to-die. xD

  • Eh? You went and checked it's design?

Anyways... what are you trying to mean by easy -to-die?? XD

  • My best set up can do all missions and take on all VR and EX arena AC's. There's only two real downsides to the setup. One is the EO core. A. The EO's are energy based. B. No core AMS. The other is the fact that I can't lock onto bio weapons, so I have to take pot shots and hop that they hit, not that mind it that much. It takes me a few tries to beat the final pulverizer though. But I get Zinaida almost every time. It all depends on how much damage I take before fighting her.

  • The Leviathan in this mission is a douche. Your cover works two ways: Saves you from his big ass particle gun and missiles, but also fuckers up your micro missiles. ECM interference doesn't help a bit either.

  • so thats what the livathan looks like complete

  • The Leviathan annoys me a lot. I know this female Raven I was up against on one-on-one... she's damn good. ^__^ It's also good that you maintain that kind of speed and that amount of strength.

  • If you're talking about a great female pilot in LR you're probably talking about Zinaida.

To mantain such speed and attack power I used lightweight parts such as the arms and lighter generator and radiator. Then I put up the most powerful boosters, and voilà. :P

  • Haven't played Last Raven, and someone has probably brought all this up already, but if people know that that thing is coming up in a mission why not equip 1)parts that provide ECM defense so you can actually target the thing, and 2)use weapons that have long ranges and/or high damage values. Rockets are a good idea, if you can actually use them effectively, but I have to recommend grenade weapons since you get two-fold damage. Or you could use a fast, flight capable AC equipped with MGs.

  • I know, I know... ECM counter systems and long-ranged high-powered weapons are good againstr Leviathans, and in fact I already beat this mission using setups equipped with all the stuff recommended for this MT. But the fact is that I wanted to try and beat the Leviathan, as well as other hard missions, using all the time the same setup. I won't change a thing on my Danger Halley, although I know it has its weaknesses... the real challenge for me was trying to "counter" those weaknesses.

  • The main problem with my Danger Halley was the poor long-range combat capability. So what could I do if I wanted to keep the setup as it actually is? Either blind-shooting maneuvers, or dodge incoming shots (missiles are that easy if you are good at dodging) and use missiles when possible. When I had my head damaged, ECMs automatically stopped working, so I could get close and use the PIXIE3.

Anyway, thank you for the suggestions. Since I won't change my Danger Halley I'll make another AC. :)

  • Hey, you are trying to improve yourself. I can't say anything. More power to you, and good luck. I still have difficulty with some of the missions on AC4, not to mention with some of the setups. Never have been able to make a decent high mobility AC.....

  • Eventuallu you will be able to overcome all the problems in the missions. Practice makes perfect. ;)

  • Oh, I overcome them just fine. I just have to resort to certain setups almost constantly. Though I did make a new setup this time around and it is working pretty well so far.

  • Good. I still don't own AC4, wish I could get it as soon as I can.

  • It has its issues, just like all of them do. Like how they dropped the AP and defenses on all the parts and through in something new called Primal Armor, which is basically a force field that takes the brunt of your damage. Not something you should rely on too much though, since you don't get to use your PA in some of the more difficult missions. Though I do like that you actually get to choose what 'style' of AC you want to field when you start the game.

  • I knew about the Primal Armor, but I think it doesn't mesh up well with AC. I didn't like that very much but I'll try and make up my own style when I get AC4.

  • Its still a pretty good game. I just largely ignore the PA though. I think it is kind of funny too that the parts with the highest PA are the light weight parts. Seems like they tried to take away the defensive advantage from the heavy weights.

  • For the livathan fight you could have used the thugs for less leader mech fight theme

  • That's actually not a bad idea. I didn't put it just because I hadn't all the tracks when I was adjusting the video for the upload.

  • if not i can give you the link to get them

  • Don't worry, I know where to get it, but thanks for the advice.

  • MAN!!!! that was the first time I think I Have really seen you in trouble aginst an MT but I Totaly understand I'am having a bit of a Single leviathan problem myself, I used my Sand Cicada set up and the thing is still a major Pain in the but:(

  • Of course I was in trouble, that's not a massive MT for nothing. xD

If I had to do it I would have probably started shooting blind, given the MT's size it could have worked (blind shooting requires the capability to predict your target's trajectory and direction).

  • btw im not sayin its easy, its just not hard

  • I don't know why Youtube didn't put the reply to your post, however I just said yours is a good tactic, only getting close is a bit difficult because of the MT's grenades and plasma bursts but other than that it should be easy.

  • to get close all u need is a fast ac. and if u hover in front, it dont do anything for some reason. its like theey WANT u to be on the floor firing stuff at it rather than approach it and slice it into halves. but ahh who cares u beat this mission and i know u s - ranked it.

  • LOL that's interesting, I should try it as soon as I stick back to Last Raven.

I S-ranked it with a different setup, 'cause with my Danger Halley it's a very hard task to achieve (but all in all it's a rather simple mission if you know what to do).

  • u dont need long range combat. all u need is high energy and weapons that can dish out some damage in a short period of time. fly up to it and fire off b4 t gets away, reapeting until u win. first time i used my main ac(the same ac for all missions and arena, the dual bazooka midweight biped)second time i used a blader to s rank. it is possible to get close to it

  • they this mission toke for ever but i was lucky enuff to find a pattarn in its flying and shooting so i could dodge a hell of a lot easyer not to mention i had no ECM problems???

  • The Leviathan's pattern is not difficult to memorize, the hard part of the mission was that:

    1) My AC hasn't got excellent VS ECM performance, I prefer to concentrate my efforts on something different, I could care less about ECM unless it is a very strong opponent (as you can see I also don't use a radar).

    2) My setup is not that well-suited for long-range combat, I had to find a good moment to strike and then take cover before it punds me with his lasers and grenades.

  • ive been trying to beat that thing for two days now

i guess i just have to be more patient ... cuz i run in there and get blown up

  • Sadly, against this opponent you have to play a "hide and run" game, a direct conflict may in fact result in a really bad outcome. Unless you are a truly skilled player I suggest you to go for a long range AC that can carry powerful weapons.

  • all these are the same stage songs in the Ratchet & clank going commando o_O?

  • missles are great,

but ever tried to fly ontop of him and rocket blade it? its fun. but watch out for its cannons.

it blew away my head on direct hit. haha

  • I'll be honest... you can't lock him well if your head is still intact. Once you have it damaged or broken, ECM can't affect you anymore, so, although a broken head decreases your defense and cooling, at least you'll be able to always lock an enemy when it's in range.

    Strange, don't you think? xD

  • All you have to do is have a good radar system on your back

  • That's right. It sacrifices mobility though. Basing on some tests you need a really high ECM level to counter Leviathan's.

  • for me the ECM wasn't the problem. it was more having the defense and firepower to kill the thing. those cannons blew off my head

  • Have you noticed that as soon as your head gets damaged or broken your AC suffers no more from ECM? However it was a problem to me because, aside from rockets, missiles were very hard to launch with no lock on.

  • ya i noticed. it was also hard to transition because my AC's tend to run on energy weapons so the longer lock on time was difficult to ajust to. it took me a while to kill the thing.

  • It always takes a while to kill the MT. Especially to my AC, which is not suited for long range combat except with rockets, the only weapon I had that was not affected by ECM.

  • ya i finally got a lucky break and landed on top of it and just started pounding at it. on the mission with the 2 leviathins i wuz like," o crap!" then i just blew em outa the sky. it was kinda funny

  • The multiple Leviathans are way easier than the single one. ECM seems to be less dangerous and they die sooner! That final mission deluded me very much.

  • I know. it was a bit of a let-down that i could take down the leviathans that easily. the only hard part was that i ran out of bullets on the last one and had to blade it...

  • That for me would be the interesting part... I like blade challenges, so I can refine my close-ranged combat skills.

  • this mission is actually fun. i set up mine a very light weight ac that enables me to fly fly and fly dodging the missile's and leviathan cannons. it'll go down in just 5-7 micro missile with extension, i think. my strategy is just fly towards the big ship and missile away! =D

  • Leviathans suffer from poor missile defense, that's why everyone uses missiles to them down. I once used a setup that wields a FENRIR and a RPX. The massive MT went down i a few shots. :P

  • Heh, you know the 3 leviathans in that one mission? its the leviathan path end. Yeah one time I did the mission and one elf 3 slice took one of them down. XD

  • Because they only have 1/3 of the single Leviathan's AP. They're not dangerous at all, I found them pretty easy.

I have a video in which I take on the Leviathan Path final mission, check it out. :D

By the way the ELF3 is a good choice, its blade wave in fact is stronger than other blades' waves (except for those built specifically to draw out waves and not blades).

  • yeah, this mission is much more of a pain. Took me like 500 trys X_X. I also like LB4

  • Yeah, it's difficult... but here's a tip: if you get your head damaged all that damn ECMs will not affect your AC anymore. As for the radar, since I use the standard head (H69S), I don't have one (and I really could care less about it), so that's not much of a problem.

Long range wepaons are to be preferred against this opponent, but if you're a strong close-range fighter you should not fear closing in to this one.
