To me, the truth is indivisible, I do not think it is right for an individual to take it upon him or herself to overlook one crime because it may result in the uncovering of what they consider could be even bigger crimes. Definitely the world has problems. Assange's liberalism is as counterproductive as laissez faire libertarianism. His actions put at risk processes in place to deal with the complexities of human society. Our world problems need a communal approach, not more race baiting and machiavellian power plays disguised as populist sentiments. Quite frankly, some of the stuff has been sheer fantasy or fairy tales, according to the leaders of the countries residing in those countries. Iran has not been singled out. For one thing, the comment attributed to J.A. seems completely out of character, compared to all the carefully phrased "thoughtful" public announcements he has made. Even if it was a throw-away comment on an IRC chat room or something like that - I actually find that understandable because much of the earlier information in 2001/2002 was extremely disorganised and not backed up with evidence.

Definitely the world has problems. Assange's liberalism is as counterproductive as laissez faire libertarianism. His actions put at risk processes in place to deal with the complexities of human society. Our world problems need a communal approach, not more race baiting and machiavellian power plays disguised as populist sentiments. This kind of reactionary ideaology can be intellectually appealing to young minds but rarely supports civil rights in the long run.

alawson911. These wikileaks documents reflect what US diplomats are passing back to Washington. They are often based on hearsay and impressions the writer has. Quite frankly, some of the stuff has been sheer fantasy or fairy tales, according to the leaders of the countries residing in those countries. Iran has not been singled out. If you look at wikipedia, nearly every country has something said about them. If anything, it makes the US look silly. I think you know this anyway.

In the initial burst of 'revelations' Iran was singled out by the mainstream media, because of its alleged nuclear weapons programme. These bursts of criticism are quite regular, and can be triggered by anything; this was the turn of WikiLeaks, next time, who knows? Iran is always featured as the Evil Doer, and I am quite surprised that it is not being blamed for the bad weather in many places. Israel, on the other hand, has to do something really bad to even get a headline.
