  • Beautiful job

  • Im the onley one that thinks that the one to the left looks a little bit like Neil patrick harris?? xD

  • Also found this on wimp.com

makes me feel like i totally wasted my highschool years.

  • Very good! I was hoping for a deep bass but I'm at a laptop so I can only hope this as good as our talent show. ;-)

  • Sounds great! Work needed on presentation though... make it believable! Great sound though! one of the best I've found

  • Favourite song in the world, literally in awe <3

  • their voices give me the chills. beautiful harmony :)

  • I don't like the predominant C^7 at the "And so it goes" section, Its actually a Bb Major chord with a C pedal. But, you've done it your own way, and its admirable. Well done =)

  • Absolutely amazing, you guys blend together sooo nicely!

  • The awesome blend, mixed with the fantastic space makes a great rendition! Cheers!

  • My favorite acapella version will always be MT

  • ohhhhhhhhhhhh my gosh this is AMAZING!!! AWESOME SOUND AND BLEND!!

  • My sister cut off part of her finger listening to Billy Joel XD

But this is by far my favorite song, and this is a beautiful arrangement. I love this.

  • @msvalerievalentine33 your sister cut off her finger listening to this? how?

  • @crazyheck1 They were listening to billy joel while using exacto knives in art class, and she ended up slipping and cutting off the tip of her finger.

  • the blend is bloomin beautiful, good on you lads

  • the dude in white looks like jim from the office

  • beautiful chords. I didn't think the song could get better. You've proven me wrong.

  • Beautifully done! Glad I could listen to this performance. :)

  • PRETTY! good job :)

  • this made me cry..... :) very well done.

  • Unbelievable! These guys are GREAT!

  • I like the short guy on the end :D

  • Well done! Thank you!

  • Bravo gentlemen!

  • Ho man. connects with something deep inside me. wouldn't call it god but it sure is divine.

  • Bravo! I hope that performance won the evening.

  • Very very beautifully done. Thanks.

  • This is beautifully sung. Thanks for posting it.

  • this is beautiful. made me tear up! done so well!

  • simply fantastic. thanks for this. found it on wimp.com

  • This is beautiful

  • Check out the fourth guys facial expressions

  • I don't know. It's great--no, absolutely amazing techincal singing, and beautiful harmonies, but I didn't feel like they really brought the meaning and emotion of the song out. In my humble opinion.

  • O wow. Amazing. One of my favorite songs of all time, and this is a great tribute to how wonderful this song is. Beautiful!

  • Hey guys, that is amazing! Truly a great cover! Love it:D it was beautiful!:)

  • atta boys this is great

  • this is AMAZING

  • Beautiful...

  • I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! BRAVOOOOO!!

  • yes, great balance! it's a real pleasure to listen to it))

  • This is freaking amazing! The blend is perfect. Absolutly beautiful!

  • which one is singing bass?

  • @crashoveride923 the two on the left.

  • WOW...guys!!...CONGRATULATIONS!!! from italy!

  • Well done, guys.

  • This is one of the best performances I've heard from a group of high school students singing this piece (and I've heard it about a bazillion times in a bunch of different voicings). I assume you modeled your vowels on the King's Singers? You obviously put a lot of time and work into this, and it shows. Lovely!

  • truly beautiful.

  • This is absolutely fantastic!! I think you all should continue to sing together when youre older because as your voices mature the group can only get that much better. Again great job

  • Absolutely stunning and lovely.

  • That was stunning. Such beautiful, yet unusual harmonies and brilliantly performed.

  • Dude that's amazing, could i get a copy of the music if that's cool? I' love for my choir to do that.

    Cheers, thats amazing!!

  • You guys are great. Amazing.

  • This group is SO talented. Can't believe this is a high school group.

  • This is actuall the beat video that I've seen of a group singing this song. Good job guys.

  • This song is so dear to my heart, I sang it for my final concert my senior year of high school!

These guys all sound fantastic, so much talent. I could listen to this over and over! :)

  • Great blend guys

  • doing this song with only guys is very challenging and they have done an amazing job. bravo bravo. excelent tone quality btw.

  • omg such beautiful harmonies!!!!!!!!!!

  • you guys are great

  • WTF is that at 0:49 ???

    Sounds horrible!

Other than that pretty good guys

  • @haigo23 That's what we call controlled dissonance. In this case, it was a 9-8 suspension on a vi chord. It was well-executed, and shows just how intelligently Billy Joel constructed his music.

  • they did a great jobbb ! buut, they need more expression on their faces !

  • fantastic.

  • beautiful rendition- the blending is great with this group!

  • beautifully done guys. Outstanding

  • Gentlemen, Gentlemen!

    Good job.

    Absolutely.

    Really beautiful job.

  • You only noticed 0:14? Open your ears, lol..

  • Wonderful! A little too much emphases on the suspension. Otherwise, totally amazing!

  • Amazing job!

  • this song is truly beautiful. my choir at school is singing this song in a different arrangement for district comp. and i am super excited! great job :)

  • Did you guys here the empasis on the word "silent"? Seemed silent! Great

  • ATAWAY BIG MAN

  • OMG AMAZING!

  • We're doing this for concert choir this year. The Kings Singers arrangement

  • I EFFING MISS PERFORMING!!!!!

  • Awesome, though am I the only one to think they're a bit (just a teeny tiny bit) off key sometimes?

  • No, they do get off a little bit at times, but it is still a very good performance

  • Oh okey! Because I thought, at 0:14, they were a little off key.

    But I know! They're splendid anyway :)

  • This is the by far the best a capella version i've found on youtube. Truly amazing, guys. You really capture the emotions of this beautiful song.

  • dude, billy joel is a legend. he has an awesome voice. dont be watching these videos if you're going to be making rude comments about him like that

  • beautiful

  • Very good for High school level. With some animation, they could be another UC Men's Octet in their college years!

  • i'll be honest, i did not expect this to sound that good. really, really impressive.

  • that's beautiful!!! that's full of magic !!!! Would you mind to send me sheet music of the a cappella version please.

  • Wow that's amazing!

Can you send me the score please? I want to try to do this =)

    Great Video guys ~

  • wow great for high school.

  • Wow....this is FANTASTIC!

  • wow

    wow

you guys literally rival the king's singers here

  • @masonwillett5 - wow, I take it you are yet another vocal aficionado right...that's why you are here making ignorant comments on you tube and no one knows who you are...keep rocking masonwillett....

  • that's blasphemy. it's good, but better than king singer's? i politely disagree.

  • No they don't.

They are good, but no where near the king's singers.

  • this music make me happy! I could say that this music are my drug!

    Soft cold and magical! AWESOME!

    Good performance!

  • wow

  • you have a fantastic tone and the place where you're singing has great acoustics! every time i listen to this i want to cry. bravo :]

  • amazing! you guys nailed this!

  • Beautiful voices. Thanks for posting.

  • Hello

Wonderful voices of this group in "And So It Goes". I signed up on your page.

I participate in a vocal group Brazilian. How do I get the score to 5 voices of "And So It Goes", if possible in Encore or Finale?

    Hugs

    André

  • A M A Z I N G

    absolutly beautiful- its heart braking

  • absolutely wonderful! i'm singing this in my high school chorus for SSATB

  • cool....81, 818 views...

  • A perfect group of voices...they have a perfect control....magnific demostration...and of course, magnific voices....very good!!!

  • all I can say is holy crappers!!! that was amazing!! if only some guys in my choir could do that...

    ah! goosebumps

  • Fantastic balance! It goes only a slight bit flat throughout the piece. Probably only about 1/4 tone. It's the nature of untrained (however beautiful) voices. I do however think this is one of the better recordings of this by such a young group! It sounds great in Fa (F), but might I suggest you try it in Fi (F#). Fi is a much more warm key and easier to get better intonation. ONLY a suggestion, not a criticism.

  • @shortrounddu The reason it blends so well can be aided by the hall they are singing in...as for flat notes...the reverb in this particular place would cover most of it up. Gotta love places like these to sing in.

  • @johnrobert2 Thanks for the comment. The room does help. However, the room would only help in the actual performing of the piece. It's easier to hear each other in a good room. It would not help to "cover up" intonation discrepancies. It cannot hide the wave length of the pitch. The room will cover up only discrepancies in timbre.

  • @shortrounddu You sound more knowledgeable about it than I. From my experience the echo and reverb produced in a larger hall or chamber or what have you (depending on the vowel) causes those flat/sharp notes or as you say intonation discrepancies to be...ehhh hard to hear. I said blend in my previous comment too...which is different than balance so again my bad

  • @shortrounddu Seriously? What are you like in college? Sing it in F#, intonation...the entire comment makes no sense and I am trained.

  • @cc1702cc First I would like to point out to you that I just graduated with a degree in Music. Second, trained musicians know that there are different qualities to keys. For instance some keys sound warmer or brigher or darker than others; a kind of personality if you will. Fi is brighter than Fa and stastistically (according to a study done at Harvard University) is easier to keep in tune. Fa is difficult because of where important tones (IV, V) fall on the break in the male voice.

  • @shortrounddu ...really clever!...I agree with you, 1/2 higher!.... and I think it would be perfect!

  • @shortrounddu i've never actually heard people use solfege as the key, first, instead of just stating the actual key itself. lol Are you a music major?

  • @shortrounddu I would trust this person.

  • @shortrounddu Yeah, I totally agree. It's really difficult to produce the middle harmonies in F.

  • very peaceful.

    good harmonies and good timing.

    amazing!

  • i love this song! <3

  • And you can have this heart to break...I love those notes. It sounds different from the other versions.

  • Congrats :)

The harmony between you all was simply breath taking :)<3

  • No kidding!! Gorgeous and Haunting

  • Im doing this song on Tuesday for my schools musical review. Same version too. Ill be sure to put it up on YouTube

  • wow very good. good bass. good pitch. very well done! I am a bass and just performed that song recently.

  • GREAT friggin' job, boys!

  • this is a beautiful song, you guys have done a beautiful job with it! congrats.

  • This made me cry. I never cry. It's such a great song. Great job, guys.

  • You're a knob, educate yourself before you speak again.

  • I am. Im studying evolution at the moment. I think its great how its stops just being a theory and is accepted throughout the world since we cracked the genome and DNA mapping confirmed the theory. We are animals :)

  • The fact is that people understand what your talking about, and still have to faith for other things.

When it comes down to it I believe most people know that its JUST faith, but its still theirs.

Don't hate man, I agree with you...but you don't need to tell people they're wrong...just go your own path.

Also, don't say everyone sings to god...I don't really sing to god, or for god, I sing because I LOVE to sing. Im even planning to become a teacher. .keep it to yourself. Its not necessary.

  • I am an atheist and have performed hymns and church services and despite not believing in a god I love the music. I think that you can be in a choir and still appreciate the music and respect what others believe without having to be a true "believer"

  • Yeh i can respect that. Music is music and when its in your heart you can find pleasures in all genres and styles. I am a musician. So i can understand that. I guess my biggest gripe is modern praise music. I know it shouldnt bother me and i admit im jelous to see other peoples faith. I wish i could have that. My life isnt easy but i couldnt ignore modern science in exchange for ancient belief. On BBC1 the other day people singing to jesus and doing a mass baptising. Its seemed so alien to me :S

  • think of it this way

religion was the ancient way of explaining stuff

    i.e. science's dad

  • wow you guys are good!!! my choir just sang this and i loved it!!! this one is really good too!

  • i can't stop watching this! it is so beautiful. you guys are amazing! keep up the good work!

  • very beautiful

  • They're high-school kids, give them time, they'll get into it in a more relaxed way. The good foundation is already there: they sound great.

  • Very good boys. Congratulations.

  • out of all the versions on youtube, you guys sound the best!! great job!! :D My university choir is performing this song on wednesday, can't wait!!

  • Best cover I've heard on youtube, but you guys are so stiff, and that carries from your posture to your music or vice versa. It's technically very sound (pun intended) but take some liberties, let it live through you. Loosen up guys!!

  • yeah how bout some backflips, get a life, they are relaxed

  • This is absolutely beautiful, gentlemen. Thanks

  • DAMN yew guys are VEWY gewd

  • Wow is all I have to say. This is amazing. Great blending and pitch. I love it.

  • Very nice job

  • i have watched this video countless times...but have a question....i cant hear a counter tenor and ther are 5 of you...how did u split it? its a nice arrangement

  • omg!! we are singing this song in chorus, we are only in middle school though not that good

  • awesome!!!

  • the best so far. thanks for sharing. good job!

  • this is amzing. great job!

  • Oh. My. God.

    This song is a MUSIC-GASM!!!

Actually, my choir's singing this song also.

  • I came across your song tonight, and the only thing I can say is that I'm sorry that I wasn't there to hear it in person! AWESOME GUYS!!!

  • Favorite version of this that i've ever seen. you guys sound amazing. Bravo.

  • I love love love this!

  • Excellent blend and harmony. Also, fantastic breath control and vowl shape. It is quite amazing how only five men can sing that well. My choir is made up of atleast 70 and we still achieve only the same sound. The only thing I reccomend is trying to make the lower parts seem less heavy. Excellent job guys. Keep up the fantastic work.

  • I am pretty sure I have listened to this more than 25 times in the past week. It's hard to believe these guys are/were just in high school.

  • I was just thinking... what a mature sound for such young boys!!

  • PERFECT...I did this as a part of my senior recital (we did a 5-part) very nice work. Did you arrange it yourself, or did you have your choir director find an a capella arrangement for you?

  • this is a king singers arrangement by B. Chilcott

  • That rag tag bunch of weirdos sounds like THAT?!?!!?

Amazing guys! Truly beautiful! Thank you!

  • holy crap i got chills. outstanding. great acoustics.

  • I sang this last year, with an all girls arangement. I love this!

  • so this is definatly the best version of this song by a choir ive heard on youtube.

  • High School? Seriously?! This is really well done, ESPECIALLY for high school students. I hope you guys are all still singing in some way or another.

  • this is the best version of this song i've ever heard. i prefer this one even over the king singers... gorgeous. if only it was on itunes.

  • this is the best sung harmony by the males and for the females its the underage quartet but one of the girls sung higher than all of the others by that i mean she projected her voice too much these guys are all equal in voice and in harmony great job for highschool very amazing beter then some older men could do 5 stars and favorites. thank you. =]

  • This is one of my favorite songs and this is THE best version of it on youtube.

    Amazing job guys!

  • every time i watch these guys' videos i can't get over how YOUNG and FREAKING AMAZING they are. i hope every one of them went on to study music. so much talent in one high school is unheard of. this is collegiate level quality. almost conservatory. bravo.

  • the best i heard...in a long time...gud job guys!

  • Woah... High school? I know many colleges that could not put together an emsemble capable of singing at this level. Absolutlely made my day.

  • This is fantastic.

  • Wow that was pretty fuckin good guys.

  • dude chris farley!!!!! no offense u look just like him haha cool

  • this is really beautiful, one of my favorite songs

  • First time hearing this song; felt like the "Who Knows" ending should have stretched out and played with before ending..felt like it didn't quite end.

maybe why the crowd waited a minute before their applause.

shit, I still give it a 5 out of 5. fantastic. great harmony. 5 out of 5.

  • This is by far the best choir version on youtube!

  • you guys are awesome, i really want my high school mens group to sing this.

  • the one in the white shirt (on the right) looks like Jim from "the Office"

  • Wow, I just clicked on this from the King's Singers version and wasn't expecting anything, but you guys are incredible!
