i wish diahann had returned to for last season of dynasty. i like the way they fleshed out her character with showing such a sensitive side to dominique (visiting her aunt and looking thru teh trunk. those are the small moments that helps to build a character

@iluvrachellef I know! I was just trying to think of where I saw her before. She was great as Will's grannie. Funny how "Northern Colorado" looks just like Los Angeles (palm trees and all!). Why didn't Dynasty emulate Dallas (which filmed the first half of each season on-location in Texas) or ER (which shot occasional "location shots" in Chicago for authentic backdrops)? Denver isn't that far from LA and it sure looks a lot different than that smog/traffic-clogged megalopolis of the '80s.
You might be righ about that. In fact, I think Leslie Uggmas would have been good on Knots Landing or Falcon Crest. These soaps were more subdued and were not as opulent as Dynasty.
Leslei Uggams had a " pretty girl next door down the street quality about" her that amny people liked. Diahann Carroll, had a sexy, sultry here I am" personality that was well suited for Dynasty.
I feel that Leslie Uggams could have been a good addition to Falcon Crest or Knots Landing. She would have had to be in a business role as a detective, social worker, workplace colleague, spy etc...
She would not have worked as or as an intimate, close friend or neighbor to any of the families.
Lola Falana would have been a good choice as well. She could have been an intimate part of either sopa opera.
might have been nice to see diana ross play her sister but ms ross....is the easiest actress to work with i am not sure how she would have fit into the cast.
I always felt like Dominique (and Brady, for that matter) was structured as a spin off of Diana (/Motown/Berry Gordy), too. I think Diana would have been a very good fit for the role, but I'm extremely glad that Diahann played it!
Not necessarily... I always got the impression that Dominique was SUPPOSED to be considerably younger than Blake even though she wasn't played that way... Then again, everybody on the show was considerably younger than John Forsythe... despite it not being played that way.
